"Overall, I had a really good stay at the Hampton Inn. The hotel itself is clean, safe, and comfortable, and the staff for the most part were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast offered in the morning was also great and a nice way to start the day. That said, there were a couple of things that kept the stay from being a full five-star experience. When I first got to my room, I unfortunately found a Band-Aid in the bed, which obviously shouldn’t have been there and raised some questions about the room cleaning. In addition, the room never got very warm. The first attempt to fix the heating issue didn’t work, and when I initially called the front desk to ask about a space heater, I was told that wasn’t an option. Thankfully, the second service technician who came by was extremely helpful and deserves recognition for the effort he put in. He took the time to properly address the problem and ultimately brought me a space heater, which made a big difference in making the room comfortable. His professionalism and willingness to help really stood out. While the front desk response at first wasn’t as helpful as I had hoped, the overall service from the rest of the staff was good and everyone I interacted with was pleasant. Like anywhere, there can be one or two bad eggs in the bunch, but nothing about the experience ruined my stay. Overall, I enjoyed my time at the hotel and would consider staying again."

"I was underwhelmed with this hotel. It is under construction right now, so the lobby layout is confusing and feels very cramped. Our room layout was fine and it was clean, but the bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen. The bathroom door was a pocket door that did not go all the way to ground, thus providing very little privacy. The location is great, but this was billed as one of the nicest hotels in Portland and overall felt very mid-range. "

"The price is good, but the noise level isn’t great. The front desk staff weren’t friendly. Personalities of three different front desk staff were flat. Gracie’s for breakfast was lovely and the hostess was excellent! We were told that parking was $20 per night and at checkout we were told it was $40 per night. The lobby should have coffee all day. I tried to have a cup of coffee at 9:45 am and it was iced cold. So amenities were poor in my opinion."
