Hotel Monteleone, New Orleans

Hotel Monteleone, New Orleans

8/10 Good
"Came for the Carousel but it was under construction. Staff was incredibly helpful. I will say I spent 40 on some French fries at room service. Even our finest meals didn’t cost that much. Other than that really nice stay."

Le Richelieu Hotel

Le Richelieu Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay at Le Richelieu. The staff were courteous and helpful; they stored our luggage when we arrived early and sent us a text to let us know the room was ready (early, before check in time). They also provided us cold bottled water several times upon returning to the hotel (it was 95 with heat indices above 105 while we were in New Orleans). Our room was simply appointed, but perfect for us with two bedrooms so our daughter had her own bed. The suite looked out onto the courtyard pool, which we used during our stay as well to cool off. They provide towels for guests too, which was wonderful and saved us having to pack them. The hotel was located in a quiet section of the Quarter, and I'd imagine even in high season it would be quieter than many other properties. It's convenient to both the French Quarter and Marigny/Frenchman Street. We walked practically everywhere, even in the heat. We would absolutely stay at Le Richelieu for any return visits to New Orleans."

Hotel Mazarin

Hotel Mazarin

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at Hotel Mazarin for four nights. Everything was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel in French Quarter and closed to all main attractions of the city. The only caveat is that if you are over 60 and suffer from arthritis, please ask for a room either on the first floor or the second. There is no elevator access to the third floor due to the phenomenal architecture of the hotel. Have pity on your aching knees and hips. Otherwise, it is an excellent place."

"The only thing was something other folks have mentioned—the noise. Frankly it was the music from the hotel itself, and maybe since my room was directly over the lobby? The music at the entrance never stopped and kept me awake all night. Other than that, beautiful place and gorgeous aesthetic."
