"We very much enjoyed this well-located and appointed cottage and appreciated the responsiveness of the owner to a request for grilling materials and the Guest Contact for her responsiveness. Two minor concerns: a stove with oven would have expanded our food prep options, and finding the address on GPS was impossible - only after calling her did Contact email a special map to show us how to get to the cottage. "

"Delightful, historical inn right next to Clark Island Preserve. Lovely wee walks on the shore and to the old quarry. Minimal light pollution at night allows for terrific stargazing. Rooms are on the small side, but thoughtfully designed. Included breakfast was delicious, with fresh made biscuits and a nice selection of offerings. Only slight negative is the slow WiFi, but maybe it's okay to take a break from streaming and read a book!"

"It was our first time renting here and we absolutely loved it! We rented sea kayaks and had THE MOST amazing time paddling all around Long Cove! While out on the water, we spotted herons, seals, terns, cormorants, and bald eagles—unforgettable moments that will stay with us a lifetime. Vanessa and Paul were kind, communicative, and incredibly gracious hosts. For example, when my daughter and I each accidentally broke a drinking tumbler while doing dishes, Vanessa was completely understanding.The cabin reminded me of my family’s old cottage on Lake Michigan built by my great grandparents—rustic, but with all the essential comforts. The Wi-Fi, AC, and hot water all worked perfectly. The privacy and connection to nature here are absolutely unbeatable.We enjoyed cooking in and dining out. Highlights included tree-top and cloud gazing the hammock, spotting numerous shorebirds, smelling the ocean breezes, listening to the sounds of wind and songbirds, practicing morning meditations on the big rock overlooking the cove, building a fairy house from natural objects, playing Scrabble (we brought our own board), and eating s’mores by the fire. Our dogs loved Drift Inn Beach and peaceful walks along the cottage road. And we had one heaven-sent sunset that truly lit our hearts up. This place was magical, healing, and restorative—just what we needed. We're so grateful to Vanessa and Paul for sharing this special property with us, and we hope to return again."

"We really enjoyed staying here, would have never known about Vinalhaven otherwise! The cottage was close to the town, so it was easy to get to everything on the island for the few days we were there. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our stay, we were able to unwind without worry. We loved the access to the private quarry for swimming, especially since the public quarries on the island were very busy! Jackson was great when we accidentally locked ourselves out lol, and as someone without the best mobility, I really appreciate their dedication to making the cottages accessible. We wish Jackson and Co all the best, maybe one day we can stay again! :) "
