A great location to explore a wonderful part of the world.
A great location to explore a wonderful part of the world. Me, two friends and my two dogs had a fantastic weekend. Great local walks and two local pubs all without having to drive anywhere. Matlock is on your doorstep too if you fancy a busier scene.

Great cottage , very well equipped , , would be a slightly small shower room for 6 people , but as there was only 2 of us & pip the dog , it was great . My husband’s comment would be , could there be slightly more comfy seating , his 6ft 4 frame didn’t fit well . perfect village for so many of the great locations , my favourite find was the brilliant Carsington water , give this water company a real big thumbs 👠up .

Great cottage in a lovely location.
Great cottage in a lovely location. While the cottage is on a road through the village, this didn’t bother us at all. Two decent pubs nearby, and only a short drive to local towns and the Peak District. What’s not to like.

Beautiful old cottage with enclosed courtyard garden, perfect for a gin and tonic once the kids are in bed. Brassington a quiet but friendly little village, the perfect stop to explore the Peaks.

Cottage was nice - in a village setting - bit cold in evenings could not turn heaters on - thought it was a bit too expensive - The Miners arms pub very welcoming and food freshly made on site reasonable priced. Cottage was on very busy road running in front of house- seemed to be a cut through for lorries and morning traffic - from 6 -9am did ease off during the day then busy again between 4-6.30 pm- dog not happy with noise would not go out in courtyard - The Miners Arms was very welcoming- food very good all made on site very fresh and not expensive - Landlord very friendly - The Old Gate inn not very welcoming left before ording anything - But Overall a good base for Matlock-Bakewell - walks around Carsington lake, Monsal head and Tissington Trail.

We loved our Christmas in this charming cottage.
We loved our Christmas in this charming cottage. It was cosy, warm and thoughtfully equipped-we relaxed straightaway, especially in front of the fire. There are 2 great pubs in the village and we found the neighbours very helpful and friendly. All in all, a super holiday.
