Perfect getaway with babbling creek.

We stayed a Thursday- Sunday. Kitchen 10 stars- there was everything you needed and more- stove gas and top of the line. The fire pit surrounded by ferns and bordered by a babbling creek was just what we needed. Placed the chairs in creek and watched the minnows and listened to the frogs. 1920s claw foot tub- icing on the cake. Out of all the places we’ve stayed this is our favorite. We will be back.

If you are looking for a timeout you are here at the perfect spot! Beautiful, cozy, very clean and welcoming cabin in the middle of the woods. Just between the state lines of Georgia and Tennessee. Loved it! We recommend this cabin 100%.

Relaxing

The cabin was a great place to stay and relax. We enjoyed building a fire down by a little stream of water and just enjoying the sounds of the wildlife....birds singing and squirrels scampering about. The cabin was stocked with more than we imagined regarding the ability to cook our own meals. We enjoyed eating breakfast at the cabin and then hitting the road for daily adventures. Highly recommend this cabin!

It was great!

We got there and it was clean, there was plenty of silverware and extra blankets if we had wanted them, and we didn't have any problems with the property. I'd love to return for a longer stay next time!

Was way better than we expected

The area was great. There is a park close by and short drive to the mountains. It's a ghost town on Tuesday and Wednesday when the train isn't running so keep that in mind when you plan your stay

Very lovely

It’s a very cute property and I loved all the antique decorations. The location is very pretty next to a creek and super close to McCaysville. Over all loved the place and owner would highly recommend!

Peaceful

This is the best cabin we have been to. We have been 3 times so far and it's so quite and amazing. Our kids love the creek. The owner is super nice and understanding. We will be back soon!

Wonderful cabin in the Woods

Me and my children had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It was clean, cozy had anything really that we needed. We could’ve asked for a better cabin and host. The only negative aspect was the neighbor that was close had three dogs that ran in front of my car every time we passed their house.

Very remote, beautiful rural property, with a cute creek. The house is a treasure, built by her husband and son, with a lot of great things to look at and ponder. Host was great too.

Peacefulness

My trip to the cabin was for time with me. Needed rest and peaceful down time. The trees surrounding the cabins were an amazing canopy of green. Trickling water sounds by the stream were relaxing and peaceful. Seeing deer, squirrels and fireflies made the vacation. Thank you for sharing your cabin with others. Great place for time away.!

Great weekend getaway

Great cabin for a weekend getaway. Close to plenty of hiking/tubing/rafting and to Blue Ridge, Murphy and other towns in GA/NC/TN. Cabin was super clean and the perfect size for 2 ... Enjoyed mornings and evenings on the porch and, despite the heat of the summer, even enjoyed a fire in the fire pit by the creek. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. (Didn't cook, but we could have.) We took our dog and he loved exploring nearby and watching birds and bugs from the porch. One thing to note ... One of the neighbors has A LOT of dogs in outside pens and they were quite vocal at times... If that bothers you or your dog, maybe something to consider. The dogs aren't right next to this property, but you can definitely hear them. (The inside is VERY quiet. Never heard the dogs in there!)

Good for the value..

The cabin seems to be structurally sound and quite cozy from the outside. The property offers a fire pit and some fallen branches to help start a fire. Upon entering the cabin we were greeted with plenty of spiders and spider webs which we spent the first hour exterminating with the provided bug killer spray cans sitting on the kitchen counter. Most of the spiders were along the floor boards in the kitchen where your feet come up to, so we took those out first.. The rest were in the corners throughout the house. The fridge/freezer had bugs all in it (even in an ice cube)! Besides that the kitchen had everything that we needed, including some little Folgers coffee packets! The couch in the living room is an older cloth type which held a lot of hair from previous renters. Upstairs in the loft/bedroom we were greeted with more spiders (luckily we had enough spray and provided paper towels) as well as a few gray haired dust balls the size of a tennis ball around floor of the bed. Sheets seemed clean so no complaint there.The ceiling fan did make a tick noise in the middle of the night so bring some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Internet worked great and cable was basic but we didn't need to watch it really. Taking a bath every night was probably the most interesting part (we knew it wasn't a stand up shower, we expected this). The tub was clean and a mat was provided. I didn't think at first about how gross it would be to take a bath until i thought about how many different people have sat in that tub lol, but to each their own. Clean towels were provided and hung up for quick drying. One of the best parts was being visited by the the neighbors two dogs (black pit mix and what looked to be a white Great Pyrenees). The mix was super friendly and chubby and the Pyrenees was a little shy. They would follow us every time we left and came back and went on walks. If you do decide to go on a walk or bring your animals, beware you will be barked at and followed by about 10 different dogs at a different neighboring property. And if you want quiet during the day you can count that out as well, the neighbors like their dirt bikes... Privacy was nice though, surrounded by trees and a little stream. beware of poison ivy. I think the cabin could've used a good cleaning before arrival. From the guest book it looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the last renter on Aug 20th.

Cozy cabin

Very clean and up to date loft style cabin. It was easy to find and no problem getting in. A convenient location to all the trails, river and town too! I definitely recommend Wildwater rafting and make sure and stop by Rum Cake Lady for the most delicious food.

Perfect quiet getaway

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. And the weather was perfect. With such a busy schedule I was looking to get away with my dogs for some mommy. fur baby time. We were actually there during the coldest time (lowest temp was 6 degrees). The propane fire place gave the cabin the perfect feel and heated the cabin amazingly. Shelia was an amazing host with communicating with me about the bad weather that was gonna happen during my stay and was so kind to offer to reschedule but I declined and still went (best choice). She checked on us daily which meant a lot to me. Definitely can’t wait to return.

In a neighborhood subdivision not secluded

Did not meet our location expectations. The property is located in a neighborhood, subdivision. A house next door with junk cars, etc in the yard. Other homes all around. The property also has a very small cottage for sleeping which sits facing the “cabin.” There is a ring camera that sits on that cottage facing the “cabin.” It was very evident that the owner/host watches that camera became within five minutes of our arrival, she texted to say to let her know if we needed anything. Inside of the property felt more like the host/owner’s home. It gave the impression that she left for the week so we could rent the property. Tons of personal items, including food in a pantry leaving no where to put our dry goods. Family photos everywhere; made us feel very uncomfortable.Dishwasher is very old and dishes must be scrubbed before they are placed in the dishwasher. It doesn’t state that online. That info is not known until it is stated on a note on the refrigerator. There are notes displayed throughout the “cabin” in items that resemble picture frames. None of the outdoor deck lighting was working. Not one light switch in the house made them work. The gas grill out on the deck is connected to the main gas line. There are very confusing instructions on the refrigerator with a diagram to turn on the gas for the grill. The gas regulator is upside down on the grill compared to the diagram. The grill and heater stove were on timers. Very difficult instructions to change.
