"Receptionists were very welcoming, informative and friendly. We found all staff to be friendly and helpful. The bar staff worked extremely hard, and dealt with the volume of customers in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. Breakfast and service were very good, staff friendly and helpful. My only very small grip would be the quality of the black pudding, very poor and too thin to be called ‘black pudding’. I was very disappointed, as it’s my favourite breakfast item. Delighted with our room, very clean, well presented, lovely decor, everything worked really well, we especially enjoyed the powerful shower. We would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend this hotel to all our family and friends. Thank you for helping in making our stay a memorable one with our very dear friends. "Hotel is located very close to the city shops, bars and restaurants. Also very close to the train station. Lots of car parking spaces available too. The staff who booked us in were really friendly and completed the process quickly and efficiently. They provide all the information we needed. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were really comfortable. Towels and toiletries were provided and tea coffee/tea. Overall great stay."

"Lovely place to stay with lots of character and charm. Beautiful courtyard, comfy bed and good breakfast. The bathroom definitely needs some work and creaky floorboards woke us up (not too early, mind!) but, all in all, we were happy with our stay."

"Myself and my partner came to stay on 25th September. We wrote a special request in our booking to be allocated a room far away from the elevator in a quiet part of the corridor. I even phoned in the morning to double check and the morning reception staff assured me that it was sorted. Upon arrival, when we went to our room we discovered that it was directly in front of the elevator which is the complete opposite of what we had asked for. I was not happy but the staff who were on duty in the evening were extremely helpful and pleasant and did the best they could with the limited rooms that were available by that time."

"Great place to stay, good breakfast only would have liked mushrooms with my fry up. There was a mug missing from the room, so my husband had to watch me drink my cup of tea!"

"Outstanding hotel with outstanding staff. Only problem was with the shower plug not draining the water fast enough which could have caused a flood plus bathroom extractor fan wasn't working. Other than that, all was good. Would recommend 👍"
