"Location was perfect, so close to the Metro, trams and buses although it was halfway up a hill. You could get to most places by public transport within 15-30 minutes including walking time.
Plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes. The area is pleasant and relatively quiet and close to a park and supermarkets. The church at the top of the hill was worth a visit.
The hotel rooms were spacious and clean but basic. Nowhere to store your clothes apart from some hooks and hangers. The bathroom was big enough, had a large area to put your toiletries and the shower was nice. You can drink the tap water from the bathroom so no need to buy bottled water.
The wooden bedroom chairs were so uncomfortable that I had to go downstairs to sit in the more comfy chairs in the communal lounge. The bedroom carpet tile were like rubber mats so were not nice to walk on bare feet and looked dirty, even if there weren't. The bed mattress, sheets and pillows were all clean but I found long hairs i the corner underneath the mattress.
Check-in, check-out and luggage storage was so easy that I did not interact with staff during my stay. I liked the communal kitchen facilities, which were kept clean by the staff for the duration of my stay. I left something in one of the fridges overnight and it was still there in the morning for breakfast which is a good sign :-)
The wi-fi was good.
Overall, I liked this hotel and would stay here again if I came back to Helsinki."
