The Secret Garden Cottage

Relaxing, comfortable and spacious self contained one bedroom cottage with room to move in a quiet rural setting. Located a stones throw from the Upper Beaconsfield Village and a short drive to Emerald or Berwick and only 50 mins from the CBD.
Ideal for couples or small family having a separate bedroom with a queen bed and a pull out double sofa bed in lounge.
Full kitchen, large fridge, washing machine, BBQ facilities and outdoor private space.
45 acre hobby farm with horses and cows. Close to walking tracks through bushland areas as well. Plenty of Kangaroos, Wombats, Echidnas and Deer to see with an abundance of bird life including Kookaburras, Cockatoos, Parrots, Galahs, Finches and Wrens.
There is also a large sunroom with plenty of space for yoga with two mats provided.
All linen and towels provided.
Kitchen Essentials: Black and herbal teas. Instant Cappuccino and filter coffee. Oil and tomato sauce for BBQing. Milk, Sugar and cereal for breakfast is also provided. A Gourmet Breakfast box is available on request. All dietary preferences accommodated.
Outdoors there is seating on the deck and a table and chairs with umbrella in your private garden area with a BBQ.

Great little place really enjoyed my stay so very quiet hearing the birds in the background was great. The sunroom is a bonus lovely especially on a sunny day great spot to sit and wind down with a Cuppa. Very private and safe place to stay if you are on your own.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The place was charming, well equiped and roomy, down a quiet dirt road in the hills. Its big sunroom windows looked out on beautiful green fruit trees & hedges and this was a lovely place to have breakfast. We met the resident wombats and kangaroos in the area each night. However we were disappointed in the quality of the bed which was quite old and uncomfortable and a few other items needed replacing eg. the toilet seat. The bed head had also come loose from the wall. Given we paid $200 per night we feel we should be able to expect a very comfortable bed.

The owner was away. We found a gate but it was backed by four barking, growling dogs so my husband thought it was the wrong place as no one would welcome visitors like that so we drove on. It was the right place. I panic when dogs run at me because of an attack as a child so he had to keep them at bay while I got into the place. It was cold and being unfamiliar with the heater air conditioners it took us a day to even determine if the produced heat. It looked like it gave us temperatures of 1,2 or 3 degrees which was strange. Anyway we figured it out but some directions would have been nice. We couldn't phone the son as directed as we didn't have an Australian phone. Everything else was fine and we managed to do the things we wanted to do by car.

We spent 5 days in this lovely cottage. It is quite isolated but that is what we liked and was central for everything we wanted to do in the Dandenongs. We were very comfortable

The property was very clean and the host left some little treats to enjoy. Lots of little spots to sit and relax. Cottage was well supplied with everything you need. Close to Emerald and little day trips were easy. The property was private and I loved the different birds that came into the garden. Loved meeting the dogs who were so polite and well behaved. The bed was super cosy but not all that good for someone with a bad back. This is not a complaint or a negative just a note for anyone who needs a firm bed. A lovely place to hide away from our busy lives and recharge. Thank you Jennifer for your hospitality.

My partner and I had a lovely time staying two nights at this property - it was immaculate, large, full of everything we needed, private, and surrounded by animals! 😍 Beautiful surrounds to wake up to. The farm's owners were welcoming, and so were their dogs! Highly recommend this stay.
