"This was by far the most unique, amazing hotel we stayed at on the island of Crete. Upon arrival we were given fresh-squeezed lemonade made from their own lemon trees. The staff was so friendly! The building is over 500 years old, and nothing like I've ever seen before. "Overall beautiful resort, but the “luxury” rooms have a view of an empty lot, an abandoned building covered in graffiti, and the very busy street. The pools on the deck are not heated so for us were too cold to use despite warm weather. None of the other beautiful pools were heated either so no one used them. Many people sitting around it but no one could use it because it was so cold. Our bed was not comfortable at all, but the pillows were great. 😊The staff were lovely, very helpful. Airport transfers were great, on time and well organized. We did not particularly like being so far away from Chania, taxis are expensive and sometimes difficult to get when you want one. Our mistake for booking so far out!! We assumed it would be easy to get to and from town, but it really wasn’t. We ended up renting a car, but also very limited parking at the resort. We drove all over, found amazing places to visit and spend the day. The beach near the resort is not very nice at all, not really usable, very windy. The food at the resort was fantastic, dinners especially. So fresh."

"This was our second visit to Atlantica Amalthia. Very nice hotel. Everywhere was very clean, our room was a good size (we had a room in the building on the beach side) with nice balcony. Nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast room was nice and good choice of food. Very well kept beach. All of the staff were first class. So friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Visited the spa and had two massages during my stay and both were very nice and relaxing. Definitely recommend. Reasonable price. Didn't use the pool as it got busy very quickly. Sunbeds were very close together and not positioned well that you could get the sun all day. Whilst I enjoy swimming in a pool, we chose to stay on the beach each day. Good location with plenty of restaurants nearby. Recommend Sebastien next door. Absolute gem of a hotel and would definitely recommend it."
