The property is old and definitely has some items that could use some updating however, everything was functional and comfortable. "Our 4-night stay at the Forest Suite just outside of Mendocino village was wonderful. It was a delightful escape from Silicon Valley, to be able to sit and look /listen/smell the redwood forest from the front deck was truly delightful. Early April meant showers the first day, but glorious sunshine and wildflowers after. A few deer came out of the woods to nibble on the grass below. The cabin was fully stocked and thoughtfully appointed; one of the best VRBO properties we've ever visited. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a few meals, the bed was extremely comfortable, and linens were top quality and soft. We lost power the first evening (rainy) but only for about 10 minutes. But emergency lighting was available and Jen (the host) contacted us via text to be sure we were OK. Mendocino village is about 5 minutes north of the cabin on Hwy 1. There you will find a grocery store as well as a variety of restaurants, shops and art galleries. Nearby are public forest lands and beaches, so take your pick. Note: the suite is on the second floor of a cabin with well-lit wooden steps, but may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The bottom floor appears to be an art studio, but we saw no activity during our visit."
