"I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago when it had just opened. It is in a great location for public transport and walking distance to a lot of restaurants and temples. Rooms are quite generously sized for kyoto as well. My only complaint is it looks like it needs a refresh as it's a little tired, doesn't look like it has been updated since I stayed there 10 years ago. Also the nicer Japanese garden has been removed from 10 years ago and the Japanese restaurant downstairs overlooking that garden which is also very disappointing. "

"The overall hotel is very nice with a great rooftop bar to end the night and very clean. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is also walking distance to some of the best shopping we did the entire trip. Will stay here again for sure. "

Rooms were delightful and loved the authentic feel of the small hotel. Wonderful central Gion location. When arriving in Kyoto station we went down to the bus station and got the 206 bus ( each time is a flat 230 Japanese Yen or they accept Suica card too , just tap once when you get off the bus stop which Gion is about approx 8-10 stops away ."
