"East House is a lovely old property. We had a large room with a great view across farm fields (there were cows!), and the sea, you could also see Dunstanburgh castle in the distance. The host was really welcoming and friendly. Despite what it says in the description the beds are fully made up and there is a good supply of towels in the bathroom so you don’t need to bring sheets etc. nice touches in the room included a kettle, coffee, fresh milk, cereals, biscuits, shampoo, hair conditioner,...

"Great location, clean and comfortable room, but only after booking room did I find out that the hotel is not staffed and I would have to call to get an entry code, which required borrowing a bartender's phone to make the call, since I didn't have phone service in Scotland. All this happened very late in the day on a Sunday, where a missed call could have meant nowhere to stay in a small town. They need to change the procedure or give fair warning through Expedia before booking."

I was made very welcome and the two hosts went out of their way to help - offering advice on places to eat and willingly providing an early breakfast on the Sunday morning. Breakfast was excellent with all locally sourced fresh ingredients. Room was very comfortable, really clean and quiet. Would highly recommend Bellevue."
