"The property itself has a lot of potential to be a great place with minimal effort. However, it clearly showed its age. Living room furniture was stained. Owner did provide sheets to cover at our request so we could sit. One of the bedroom window shades was broken and it took owners five days to respond after our request to fix it. As we were leaving day after, we told them not to bother. We also had to ask for additional towels as the ones provided were not sufficient for four people staying...

"This is a nice calm place to escape to reconnect with nature and a slower pace of living. There are lots of nature trails to hike. Aveiro and Porto are an hour away, but you have some very unique tourism opportunities about 10 minutes away in S. João da Madeira with their industry tourism and hat and shoe museum!"

He was able to answer all questions and supported us with all requests around the house.The house with history was fantastic, the garden is very beautiful and we've enjoyed the summer vacation. "Fernado & Amelia were very welcoming and had generously left a welcome gift pack. We were given lots of information about services & things to do in the area. The outdoor living space with bbq & outdoor sink and plenty of charcoal together with the pool greatly enhanced our stay in early July. The only downside was there was no airconditioning (our error not noticing when booking) as in the 1st week temperatures were up to 40 degrees but fans were provided. A lovely peaceful setting."
