"Lovely large, clean room. Comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. We couldn't find the TV remote control. Receptionist immediately brought one and ensured it worked. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Check in was easy, parking convenient. We would happily stay again. "

"A really good welcome and a free car park (once reg entered onto system at Reception). The double room was large and clean. As this is a heritage building, there is an impressively sloping - and creaking/squeaking - floor. Luckily, I couldn’t hear much from the function room below, and nothing from the bar. But a lot of noise from other room’s plumbing and doors slamming can be heard in the room. Plus there is light from under the main room door so it may not be fire-safe. I’d recommend bringing ear plugs. There’s an extensive ‘pub grub’ menu available on-site, and plenty of eateries nearby including a chippy opposite. Sainsbury’s is under 5 mins walk too. "

"Facilities were good, room was clean - a little disappointment with the bed, as it was just two single beds pushed together. Everything else was fine."

"Clean room but had a damp smell. Went for drink in bar and must say bar man could have bedn bit happier,served beer in a strange glass, which he changed after i requested different glass, his excuse was no clean glasses ?? It wasnt busy so not sure why no clean glasses ? Reception staff lovely and polite"

"The staff were so nice, really friendly and helpful. We had evening meal and breakfast and they were both great. The pool was fine, had a nice swim, jacuzzi and steam room. The let down was the room hadn’t been cleaned, there were still balloons in the room and leaves in the bath, half a toilet roll from previous guests. Also we got charged 4 different prices at the bar for drinks and a large Chardonnay was £15.95 for a glass, not a bottle, which we found extortionate…"

"Staff were courteous and super helpful and efficient. The Indian restaurant was superb. The hotel cleanliness left a bit to be desired in terms of the exterior which wasn’t swept, with cigarette butts all around and rubbish not picked up. I changed rooms because the one I was given was not clean. It could be so nice with just a few details taken care of."

"Heating in the initial room was not able to be turned on. No equivalent room was available. I was told I would have to pay for an upgrade or stay in a freezing cold room. Finally, 2 hours later, I was advised I would be moved to another room at no additional cost. This should have been athe immediate and unquestioning solution. Very disappointing. Breakfast was also very disappointing. The most limited (and prepackaged, so not fresh) range for breakfast I have ever encountered in extensive travels."
