"Breakfast and dinner buffet was yummy. Loved the sulphur smell of Onsen water and volcanic mud all over the body. Also we were lucky to have seen the traditional taiko performance that’s only on every now and then. Absolutely stunning. There’s also free local sake tasting, a bonus. Lawson just across the road for your convenience."

"In the evening they have a program inside the sauna called aufguss where the staff would play some relaxing music and fanned everybody with a towel, making you sweat a lot. That was fun and I really enjoyed it. There’s also massage chairs and manga in the relaxation room. Oh and free beers and snacks are also available free of charge. "

"First time using JR Hotel, I am so happy about my decision since those few days south Kyushu was in rainy season, it was pouring outside, I was comfortably walk from train station to JR Hotel. I love the way they control the security of elevators also very convenient locations with coin laundry ! Oh, most important, the room is almost American size, very roomy and comfortable! "

"Fantastic hotel, staff is amazing and helpful. Restaurants are top notch, though a touch on the pricey side but the quality and service merit it. Maybe one other mid price restaurant when you don't feel like going too fancy would be nice. We were not able to take advantage of the Onsen due to tattoos and the pool did not seem to be open for some reason. The shopping area is a real bonus and was quite well priced with some fun and interesting items there. Has trouble trying to cast from our computers onto the TV in the room but that was common in a lot of the hotels on our trip. Understanding that they want you to use the hotel and resort but a bit more information about the city and surrounding areas to visit would also add to the experience. Easily the nicest room and view we had on our whole trip in Japan though!"
