Excellent spot for some privacy and relaxing. Gorgeous prairie views and a lovely deck to watch the sunset from. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook some great meals there.
We brought our own drinking water, the tap water does smell like sulfur.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was 34 degrees and our dog very much enjoyed going swimming in there little pond. The house is very clean and has a beautiful view. We will be back for sure. Thank you!!

Beautiful scenery, peaceful and quiet! This is a perfect getaway with access to the discovery wildlife park! We would definitely love to return for another weekend. The kitchen is easy to use with everything you need. If you love the sounds of birds and the sparkle of the sun in the trees this is for you:)
This property was beautiful! We stayed here for a weekend getaway & had a relaxing time. Being tucked away in the trees and able to disconnect was nice. I wasnt expecting the bedrooms to be all connected which was a fun surprise for us! We decided we would come back again in a different season because we liked the vibe so much! Everything as far as toilet paper, paper towel, tin foil, dish soap, sponges etc was provided which was great. Everything was clean & host was responsive!
Absolutely gorgeous private property, amazing views and such a great place for a romantic getaway.
Very easy check in and communication was 10/10. Can’t say one bad thing about our stay. We will be back on our anniversary next year.
Cheers,
The chalet exceeded our expectations in its size and atmosphere. The seclusion of the property was just what we wanted to get ourselves and our dogs out of the city. The abundant space, inside and out, made it a wonderful place to relax and unwind for the weekend!
If you are looking for a place to recharge with no interruptions this is it! So peaceful!! Beautiful views and amazing host. She was so quick to answer any questions we had and was super friendly. House was very clean and our kids loved the cows near by.
Thank you for everything.
Enjoyed our time at this very private home in beautiful country. Unfortunately the pool/lake is really a pond, the kids enjoyed same and the use of the paddle boat. Be aware the water is muddy, weedy and leeches are present, but that didn't stop the kids and dog from swimming.
If you are planning on using the two top bunk beds please note they don't have mattresses so blow up beds would be recommended
Beautiful location and property. House was lovely and clean. We were scheduled to stay 4 nights but unfortunately left after 2 due to my dogs feeling unwell; likely because of the heat. There is no AC and when it’s 30 degrees, with south facing windows, there is no escaping the heat. The dogs loved the freedom to run (supervised) and loved the pond. Wish we could have stayed longer.
What a wonderful home situated in such a beautiful and private spot. If you’re thinking of getting away from everyone and everything, this is the place. So wonderful to wake up in the morning listening to the birds. Miranda was extremely accommodating and we wanted for nothing! So easy to communicate with.
We will definitely be staying here again!
We had a lovely time staying in this home. It’s challenging to truly understand the boundary of the property if you aren’t sure what’s what on farmland but we made do on the nice paths. Missing a solid knife but everything else was just lovely. Bring your snacks and vino and have a blast! Super private.
We really enjoyed the peacefulness of this location. The views are lovely, watching the birds come and go on the lake.
We enjoyed taking the dog for walks around the property, which is really pretty with the changing leaves.
I think it should be mentioned in the description to definitely bring your own drinking water and a fly swatter.
After the initial shower on day one, the hot water ran out after about 3 minutes.
Overall, we got what we went for: a chance to unplug and enjoy each other's company.
We enjoyed our stay in birdhouse. The house was clean and gorgeously situated. The closeness to nature let you relax and forget about busy life.
The only thing was the lack of a hot tube mentioned in the description. There is a pond that you can use as swimming pool. The tap water is not potable.
This was a lovely three days. The house is beautiful and the property is wonderful. We really enjoyed the long walks we took, and the pond is really pretty. Lots of critters around: deer, frogs, and a muskrat! Great communications with Miranda, and it is really very quiet. It was perfect for us.
Two small things. Because it is an open concept house, if you are a light sleeper it is a difficult when people are moving about. Also, water is quite soft with sulfur odour, so if that worries you, bring drinking water. But these were minor things.
The property surpassed our expectations on all levels! The setting was tranquil yet alive with sounds, smells and sights of nature as the season transitions to Fall. Perched on the side of a bluff, surrounded by trees, the very modern and well designed home has floor to ceiling windows facing a meadow and small lake. Enjoying a morning coffee on the south facing deck was amazing! My two adventurous dogs thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to explore and swim without risk of busy roads or interfering with neighbours. We would love to return for a longer stay and spend time crafting/creating in that perfect setting. Excellent host communication as well.
'The Birdhouse' was such a cozy spot to just unplug and get away from it all. Woodburning fireplace was a huge hit. At first the lack of internet or a tv (we brought some video games) was alarming, but we soon embraced it as a chance to play some board games together, read some books and kick up our feet.
The only downside was that flies were continually getting inside from somewhere (I believe a window was open a crack); and the kitchen was lacking some essential items- firestarter (for fireplace), cheese grater, etc. Also worth noting the semi- open sleeping situation; very cozy layout for a Family getaway; but maybe not ideal for those seeking privacy.
I would happily come back to the Birdhouse to disconnect. My daughter was elated when a porcupine came and visited our car in the morning, we saw deer on the way in and heard a moose and many coyotes during our stay. Great stargazing. Bring a bluetooth speaker amd a downloaded cozy jazz playlist, a couple bottles of wine and you'll have a cozy, fun stay!
