Tucked away in a peaceful garden setting, The Hidden Haven offers the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience in beautiful Moeraki. Wake to the sound of birds, breathe in the coastal air, and fall asleep to the faint rhythm of the ocean at night.
While the unit doesn’t have ocean views, the beach is just a two-minute stroll down the driveway and across the road. Wander along the sand for 45 minutes to reach the famous Moeraki Boulders, or take the quick five-minute drive instead.

Beach access is only steps from your door, perfect for morning coffee walks or sunset strolls. The Moeraki Boulders are easily reached on foot or by car. The Moeraki Tavern is a gentle five to seven-minute walk for their renowned fresh blue cod and fish and chips. It is also a local favourite for watching live rugby and connecting with the community.
Katiki Point Reserve is only five minutes by car where you can spot yellow-eyed penguins, seals, and unforgettable sunsets over the cliffs.
The historic Oamaru Precinct offers Victorian architecture, artisan bakeries, and galleries, just a short drive away.
Trotters Gorge and Herbert Forest have great nearby walking tracks within five to fifteen minutes of the property.
The Space
Hidden Haven is a self-contained, private unit located on the same property as the main home but with its own entrance, driveway, and complete privacy.
It sleeps up to four guests with a poster bed and a double bed. There is a compact kitchenette and dining area with essentials, outdoor seating, and exclusive BBQ use for relaxed evenings.
The unit is surrounded by private gardens and native birds.
For longer stays, the layout can be adapted to suit your needs. A dining table setup is available for extended visits, or a workspace option with desk and chair for remote workers. Layout reconfigurations are available for bookings of three nights or more.
Welcome Drink
Guests staying three nights or more receive a complimentary bottle of wine or bubbles as a welcome gift. You can select your preferred wine type, red, white, or sparkling and we will choose a local New Zealand favourite to have waiting for you on arrival. Specific brand requests are not available.
Personal Touches
When time allows, guests occasionally enjoy a taste of fresh home baking, a little something for breakfast or afternoon tea. It is a small gesture that reflects the relaxed, homely charm of Hidden Haven.
For Families and Rainy Days
The private driveway and garden space allow children to play safely. Outdoor and indoor games are provided. A smart TV with Netflix, Disney Plus, and YouTube offers cosy evenings. Freeview and local television channels are not available. The nearby Moeraki Tavern is perfect for watching sports or enjoying a local meal when you want to head out.

Guests who need to stay connected will appreciate fast, reliable Wi-Fi running on a separate network from the family home, ideal for remote work, streaming, or studying by the coast.
