"This was incredible. If you are looking for a 5 star resort this may not be for you , but if you want a real authentic experience with an incredible view , I mean incredible. (This is saying a lot as I am from Alaska and have a high level of expectation for views ) the family that runs the base camp and restraint were so sweet this was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in my life. Can’t wait to plan my trip back here! "

Salkantay Hostel Chaullay

Truly recommend to stay at Chaullay Salkantay Hostel during your Salkantay trek. The place has exceeded our expectations (especially after other lodges during the trek). The rooms are a great standard and provide real comfort, they are clean with towels and soaps. We had a room with a private bathroom which was clean, convenient and with an amazing shower (all you wish for during the trek!). The beds are very comfortable and it’s a proper building, sheltering you from the cold and wind, letting...

Sanctuary Lodge, A Belmond Hotel, Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu

10/10 Excellent

This hotel is literally steps away from the entrance of Machu Picchu, which means you can easily catch both sunrise and sunset at the site, as well as leave and re-enter. The staff is truly exceptional. Rodolfo and Erving were incredibly helpful, considerate and accommodating. Dinner menu and service very impressive, but the lunch buffet is outstanding in terms of quality, presentation, and selection. Would highly recommend! More than fair value for the cost considering inclusion of meals and...

Tierra Viva Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu

10/10 Excellent

After reading reviews of Aguas Calientes in general, I was leery of the accommodations available. This was so inaccurate! The town is much better than what I read, and this hotel was the best one yet! (Better than Cuzco, Lima, and Ollantaytambo) The bed was bigger than my king at home. That alone made me smile when I walked in. I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for three nights and loved it. It actually felt like a vacation.

I highly recommend this hotel. I would stay here again. We were here for Machu Picchu. Excellent stay. Had a room on the 4th floor over the river. The river is kind of loud, but great windows so it seemed more like a "white noise" in the background which was quite nice actually. Despite its proximity to the station, we could not hear any train at all from our side. There is a train that passes literally 5 feet in front of the hotel so get the river side if possible. All the staff were...

HOTEL LUZ GARDEN

10/10 Excellent

This place was great! Recommend to all. The staff go above and beyond to help you and make you feel welcome. Clean, solid breakfast, very kind staff who asked us every time they saw us if we needed anything (and offered toiletries, towels, room cleaning, directions, advice). The polla a la brassa across the street was very good and only 30 soles per meal--don't get ripped off by the tourist restaurants on the main street.

Birds Hotel Molino

Ollantaytambo

10/10 Excellent

Hotel Molino is a tranquil getaway in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Holmes, the owner, is warm, gracious and works very hard to make guests 100% comfortable. Meals are healthy Peruvian fare created by a talented chef and the view is priceless. If you are looking for a quiet nature retreat that is off-the-beaten-path, this is your spot! Look for the motorcycle sign and gate with double wooden doors.

Micah

A cozy outdoor seating area with wooden benches and cushions, surrounded by potted plants and a stone wall.

Casa Del Sol Machupicchu

Machu Picchu

10/10 Excellent

This place was magical! Within walking distance to the train station. It's a super small town and there are no cars. The hotel can arrange for someone to meet you at the train station and assist with carrying luggage. There are a lot of shops and great restaurants so get lost and have fun! Note that some of the outdoor restaurants charge a 'service fee'. One of the restaurants we stumbled upon had horrible service and they slipped us that service fee so just ask.
