This hotel is beautiful. I cannot express how lovely our time was here. The room was a great size with plenty of space a storage, and we had a balcony from which we could watch monkeys play in the trees. The aircon was a godsend! The hotel is set up as about 10-15 villas rather than as one large complex. This creates a much more boutique and homey feeling. There are many areas to enjoy in the hotel, including the gorgeous private beach. The food was exceptional, and despite being all inclusive, managed to stay away from the trap of being samey by day 3. The staff (from cleaners to chefs, waiters and bartenders) were all delightful and made us feel extremely welcome. We each enjoyed a spa treatment which worked wonders following a week of bumpy safari roads. All in all, I can only say please book this place if you’re considering it!

Lovely stay at Pinewood Beach Resort

We had an absolutely lovely stay at the Pinewood Beach Resort. Everything was great, everyone in the staff was helpful, warm and welcoming, the buildings and decorations are inspired by local traditions. Food was excellent. Loved having dinner on the beach! Last but not least the beach and the garden is incredible beautiful. Will definitely come back!

My stay at the Pinewood was amazing. Although the public areas are a little bit dated the quality of the rooms and the exceptional service by all the staff was above my expectations. From the gardeners to the chefs everyone goes out of their way to make your stay very memorable. I am sure if you choose the Pinewood you won’t be disappointed. I will return for sure! Great job everyone, especially the owner for creating such a special place with special people.

Beautiful hotel - gorgeous gardens and lovely low rise buildings - immaculately maintained and cleaned - very big and comfortable rooms Excellent food - even for vegan (except vegan desserts which they don’t do) but overall food was superb The pool is gorgeous, so is the beach (although not great for sea swimming, its way too shallow) and there are loads of loungers so lots of space Restaurant serving staff, cooks, cleaners and gardeners are lovely and helpful. Reception are a bit grumpy. Negatives: main problem is the airport transfer service from Ukundu which is about 6 miles away. Pinewood present this on their website and listings as an inclusive service available to guests; we had 4 phone calls organizing transfer taxis and nobody mentioned an extra charge; when I checked out they charged me an extra USD $40 which is more than double UK prices for such a short journey and for Kenya prices this is an astonishing rip off. Strongly recommend anyone else not to use Pinewood’s transfer service. the quality of the coffee is poor - in a coffee producing country this should be improved The bathrooms only have cheap generic shampoo dispensers which is a let down as otherwise the rooms are great. They need to invest in premium branded products.

All the staff were professional, polite and very graceful. The front desk ,the bar service and the dining staff both for breakfast and dinner were friendly and very personable. I appreciated that they moved us to a suite (to accommodate one more person ) and upon welcoming me us there was a sign at the main entrance with my family’s name and our USA flag welcoming us. Someone that work at the property (I think someone working housekeeping) stole $100 out of my purse that was in the room. I reported it to the property and they asked me if I used the safe and I told them that my partner did and that my money was stolen out of my purse that was in the room. They told me that it is rare and I should have used the safe. How terrible. No apology or anything. I shouldn’t have to take every dollar out of my purse and lock it away everytime I return back to the resort. I was there celebrating my birthday not being a guard for my personal belongings inside of my a room I paid thousands for. Will never visit this resort again!! And what a shame because the kitchen staff were so nice

Das Pinewood Resort ist ein sehr schönes Hotel mit ausgesprochen freundlichem Personal. Wir haben uns während unserem Aufenthalt sehr wohl gefühlt und waren mit dem Zimmer mit Meerblick wahrlich zufrieden. An Essen und Getränken fehlt es dann dem tollen Personal nie, lediglich im Restaurant beim Abendessen und Frühstück ist es immer sehr warm da es weniger Durchzug gibt. Besonders empfehlenswert ist das Dinner am Strand am Dienstag und Donnerstag! Herzlichen Dank an das ganze Team und besonders James und Grace!

Be aware of Credit Card Fraud

We where 2 couples that stayed 4 nights at Pinewood in end of February . Location, food, staff attention and infrastructure is top notch. UNFORTUNATELY, the experience was completely destroyed when we returned home to Norway and learned that we had been charged twice for the stay on our cards. Immediately, we contacted the hotel in good faith and asked them to refund us. After 8 weeks with several e-mails and phones we have not received the refund as promised by the Hotel Resident Manager Pamela Mshai. Consequently, we where left with no other choice than to report the case as fraud to bank and fiscal police.

Die ganze Anlage ist sehr gepflegt; der Garten so, wie man sich einen tropischen Garten vorstellt. Die Zimmer haben alles, was man braucht. Besonders schön ist die große Terrasse, wo man ganz im privaten entspannen kann. Das Personal sehr freundlich und das Essen ausgezeichnet und abwechslungsreich.
