Grebe Cottage Bonchurch Isle of Wight . Idyllic setting.

"We had a lovely stay at Grebe Cottage. It was close enough to everything we needed, without being in the middle of it all. Although parking is restricted immediately outside the cottage during the summer months, we didn't really have any issues with finding somewhere to park a little further down the road."

"Lovely old fashioned traditional hotel where guests are always right ! I was very impressed when I booked an evening meal . I had warned them I have numerous food intolerances . I hoped they would have something I could eat so was blown away when I was given a menu especially made for ME !! Ventnor is quiet and quaint . Only thing I struggled with was the room was very very warm so sleeping was tricky and it was very small for two ."

"Great location, amazing views, however the property is somewhat lacking. Facilities are for the most part fine, albeit the double bed is a standard small, and the box room is an extremely small single bed, with an incredibly uncomfortable mattress. Thinner duvets would be better with a throw blanket than the thick one provided. No bedside lamps in the main bedroom makes it hard to read at night, plus no wall mirror so hair drying was interesting! There needs to be more glassware - 2 wine, 2 tumblers and 1 pint glass means constant washing up...not wanted when youre on holiday. Finally, whilst the flowers, milk and shortbread on arrival were nice, an extra hour spent on cleaning would have been better appreciated. The spider web above the cooker really needs its own postcode as its so large, and the amount of dead bugs on the carpeted (why?????) bay windowsill was beyond belief. I get this is an older property but the amount of spiders is ridiculous, and sprays do exist nowadays to eradicate the problem. Guess you get what you pay for and for the money its adequate."

"A really lovely property, spacious, clean with sea views and had everything we needed. A couple of small glitches with the bathroom (one of which we were alerted to before we arrived). The other issue we had received a good response from the host. The parking area is not so easy to get out of (requires reversing onto the A road) but there is parking on the road. Overall would definitely recommend this property and host."

"Nice little two up two down converted and modernised. Galley kitchen worked well for minimum cooking though plenty of equipment if need to. Mattresses too soft for us but that’s a personal issue lovely and quiet and excellent view of the sea"
