"Our recent stay at this spectacular reclaimed Umbrian Villa exceeded our every expectation, offering an flawless masterclass in authentic Italian hospitality. From the moment we made our first inquiry, the property's dedication to service was apparent through their informative and seamless correspondence. Upon arrival, the welcoming staff anticipated our every need with a warmth and professionalism that set the tone for the entire stay. The property itself is a stunning architectural achievement. While it is a new build, it flawlessly mirrors the traditional structure, charm, and historic elegance of classic Umbrian architecture. It captures the very essence of Il Dolce Far Niente (the sweetness of doing nothing). Nestled back into the countryside, the villa is surrounded by manicured landscaping and vibrant flowering bushes fragrant, fresh pines lush, sweeping olive groves Each building on the property has been meticulously constructed to ensure maximum privacy. The luxury suites are stylishly furnished, blending high-end design with comfort. This thoughtful layout provides a peaceful sanctuary that allows guests to completely focus on rest, relaxation, and reconnecting."

"This was a lovely place to spend a holiday with family of all ages. The grandchildren enjoyed the freedom the large property afforded them. No neighbours to annoy with their boisterous appreciation of the pool. It is a rustic old farmhouse, quirky but delightful. If you want modern chrome and glass it will not be for you. It is though well equipped with sharp knives (!) and all the cutlery and crockery you might need plus appliances. It is also ideally situated to enjoy the beautiful hilltop towns of Umbria and Tuscany. Raffaella is a very helpful host who responded to numerous questions we asked. Her Olive Oil is delicious, if she has any available do take a bottle home."

"We spent three wonderful weeks at Villa Caporlese in June. We were sad to leave, it had started to feel like home. The listing's description and previous reviews are entirely accurate.The setting is the star. The house is along a stone track, think of an English country lane without the tarmac, perfectly navigable for anything but the lowest-slung cars, used just enough by locals to feel like a thoroughfare rather than the end of the world. Seclusion without isolation. The garden is beautifully tended, with cherry, fig, plum, olive and a persimmon tree, the private pool was cleaned spotlessly each day and was heaven.The main house is classic traditional Umbrian, the annexe is a more contemporary take on the same style and looked lovely. The kitchen is well equipped. Stefania, the caretaker, was excellent, always helpful and cheerful.The nearest shops and supermarkets are about twenty minutes away, a trip out for provisions was a welcome peek at the outside world. Orvieto and Siena both worked well as day trips.One small suggestion for future guests: there were no basic cleaning materials or cooking staples (oil, salt, etc) provided. That's absolutely fine, just it would have been helpful to know in advance and would have let us pick things up on the drive in.We wholeheartedly recommend Villa Caporlese to anyone looking for natural seclusion that can be interrupted by a bit of sightseeing or a supermarket trip."
THE LITTLE HOUSE IN THE WOOD

"We enjoyed a magical three weeks in Castiglion Fosco. Andrea and Gilda have lovingly restored and enhanced an historic cottage, retaining one hundred percent of its charm and adding one hundred percent modern amenities: lovely cooking facility, up to date bathrooms, beautiful handmade tile floors, lots of ceramic details painted by a local artist, wonderful BBQ, stone terraces, and meticulously maintained pool. When there was a mechanical problem with the water heater after a lightning storm, Andrea got it fixed immediately. He also correctly suggested that we park our car in the upper town lot instead of threading it through a tiny arch and up a steep, turning drive. It was lovely to take the short walk every day for our outings and then stroll back down the hill in the evening.The pharmacy, post office and coffee bar under the tower give the hamlet a little more life than most of the nearby castles and small towns, and Tavernelle is right nearby with very good grocery shopping and road connections to the rest of Umbria.Best of all, the quiet was unbelievable. Just a few roosters and geese in the distance, at least at this time of year when many of the other houses were closed up.The surrounding landscape is so green and various, as are the clouds and sunrises and soft sunsets, that we easily read out the encroachments of modern power lines coming up the hill next to the house from an electric generating plant in the valley. All in all, superb!"
