"We had the sky suite on the sixth floor. We were room 609, the end room. The room was absolutely gorgeous. The balcony was huge. There was three different types of seating on the balcony as well as some beautiful potted plants and of course, the view of the cathedral. We spent so much time out there and had a nightcap every night on the balcony. Check-in was very easy and the staff was very accommodating. The doorman are absolutely fantastic and helped with our luggage for check-in and check out. The housekeeping service was also great. Our sheets were a little bit dirty upon check-in and they remade the entire bed for us. We did take advantage of the breakfast buffet. It was very good with lots of choices."

"This boutique hotel (sister to the Hotel California) is in the perfect spot if you want to discover Barcelona. It's not high end, but neither is the price. The picture of the front door on the site almost scared me off as it shows the door beside it, covered in graffiti, but graffiti is sadly the norm in Barcelona. The hotel is very clean, as is the room, which is very well laid out, including a small kitchen area. Finding our room was a slight chore, as the door to the "200-level" rooms needs a sign once you get off the level "P". The rooftop patio is simple, with 3 small tables, 12 chairs and 2 loungers. We used it twice to have our own wine and cheese and relax after a busy day of touring. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast available at the Hotel California (small charge), just across the Plaza. Lots of restaurants and shops one block towards La Rambla and in the Plaza. The close bars with music do go very late into the night on the week ends, but it wasn't a problem...they even supply ear plugs which we didn't need. The area is perfectly safe, although we were warned about pickpockets in the whole city. It is in the Gothic area, two short blocks off La Rambla, about a 5 minute walk to the Columbus monument. All in all, it was a great place and I would stay there again."

"It is nowhere near the city centre. But taxis are plentiful and relatively cheap. If you're at the conference centre it's ideal. The local amenities are very much that. But most of the city is 10-15 mins away. The bar and roof top pool are nice. But it is definitely not a holiday hotel as such. Really helpful staff If you need to be in the area it's a very good option"

"Very modern, staff lovely. Cigarette smoke coming from other balconies and the restaurant terrace wasn’t nice and meant we had to keep the balcony door closed. Suite was lovely and robes and toiletries nice"
