Gîte in the castle - swimming pool with view - charm, history and nature

"This is a very special property and I recommend it highly.It is very much a chateau/castle as per the photos, with lovely wood floors, styled ceilings, antique furniture. The beds are old fashioned but comfortable. The bathrooms are all modern and well equipped with good showers. The place is exceptionally well equipped - everything you could possibly need when it comes to dining and cooking. On arrival, there were some supplies to start us off till we could get to the shops, which was very generous. Everything is of very good quality and you are trusted to use lovely things. There was huge assortment of drawing and colouring materials and toys for the children, also board games. The pool is lovely and a good size. There is an amazing pool house which again is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, fridge, and cooking facilities including a bbq.Phillipe and Marina live on site in another part of the chateau. They were perfect hosts, completely unobtrusive but helpful when we had questions. We stayed for two weeks, a family of three couples and two children. I'm not sure anyone ever bbq'd as much as we did, and Phillipe and Marina certainly had a lot to put up with, as we generated a lot of recycling and compost and so on, which they quietly dealt with along with keeping the pool clean, a challenge as the kids were in the pool from morning till night!Thank you so much to both of them for a most amazing stay and we would love to be able to return.,"

"Heerlijke week met familie gehad in dit huis! Veel potjes tennis, tafeltennis en jeu de boules gespeeld. Heel fijn zwembad. Leuk dat er allemaal verschillende plekjes en hoeken zijn in de tuin waar je kan zitten. Fijn dat zoveel gezellige spullen in het huis aanwezig waren, zoals tafelkleden en sport/spel."

"Les Plessis is a fantastic getaway for anybody who cherishes holidays in a quiet retreat, and a well-situated place as a base camp for excursions in the Loire valley. The flat is fully equipped and modern with a separate entrance on the first floor of an idyllic farmhouse (more than 200 years old). The place is very spacious with separate sleeping rooms and a central living room/fully equipped kitchen plus bathroom. The amenities are great (pool, trampoline, dedicated eating place outside in a grape arbour etc). The place is central for instance between Chambord/Blois, Tours/Villandry and Amboise/Chenonceau; also close to excellent value-for-money vineries (e.g. Chateau de Valmer, Guertin and others in Vouvray). Les petit plessis is equally suited for families and cultured couples, also for several adults. Most importantly of course, Muriel and Michel are the kindest and most generous hosts. Merci pour tout et pour votre générosité, nous avons vraiment passé un excellent séjour!"

"My family, including our two young children, stayed at Repère Sauvage for three nights in late June 2026, and we had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, with thoughtful attention to every detail, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool, the bicycles, and the delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly stay here again on a future trip. Highly recommended!"

"Magnifique château !Doté d'un espace incroyable tant intérieurement qu'exteriereument.Chaque chambre possède sa salle de bains, la piscine intérieure a été très appréciée.Par certains aspects, le château est dans son jus mais c'est ce qui fait son charme"
