TL:DR, I’ll stay there again whenever I need to be downtown on a budget,
For the price, I’d be a fool to complain; I’ve stayed in worse places that were three times as expensive.
The room was clean, warm, and well lit. The staff was friendly and professional. The bed was comfortable, the duvet and cover were super nice, the pillow was fluffy.
The bathrooms felt a bit dingy, but were clean, well-stocked, and in perfect working order.
Let me put it this way: considering the location AND the price, this is an incredible bargain. I would DEFINITELY stay here again.
I chose this hotel because it was one of the most affordable options in the area, so I wasn't expecting luxury. However, I did expect basic cleanliness. The positives: the staff allowed us to check in early which we appreciated. The lobby offers complimentary coffee and tea, and the room included a microwave and a small refrigerator.Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by a serious housekeeping issue. On our second night, we discovered that the bed sheets appeared not to have been changed before our arrival. There were visible hairs on the sheets that did not belong to either of us. We reported it, but the front desk told us that no clean sheets would be available until the next morning because housekeeping had already left. As a result, we had to sleep that night on bedding we believed had been used by previous guests. The sheets were replaced the next morning, but this should never have happened.Housekeeping was also inconsistent in other ways. We arrived to find the toilet paper roll already less than half full, with no spare roll provided. No washcloths were available, and towels and toiletries were provided very sparingly.
The building is old, there is no elevator, and carrying luggage to the fourth floor through narrow staircases was difficult.Overall, this hotel may work if your only priority is finding a very inexpensive place to stay. However, clean bedding and basic supplies are not luxury amenities—they are the minimum every guest should expect.
Good, cheap, option. The staff was very nice, the hostel was as expected for such a low price but it was not at all terrible.

Affordable hostel in Montreal
The bed and the shower were good. Danny was helpful with the check in. The hostel needs some repairs, but the bedroom three was good. Dulce, the manager, is an OK person. I was surprised with the check in process, but overall everything was OK for a two night stay.

Fabulous stay! Basic accommodations
I enjoyed my stay. Staff were super welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. Location was extremely convenient! Delicious breakfast restaurants, coffee shops, pubs & dining in the surrounding blocks. My bed wasn't the most comfortable, and the bathrooms were a little run down, but the shower was good. Lockers were a decent size. Overall vibe... a little run down, but clean enough and felt very safe. Can't beat the value. Would definitely stay again.

Pay attention: locker needs a 50$ deposit
It’s fit for very short stay.
Location is good
Bathrooms are clean
-Lacks basic renovation and
-Limited personnel at reception desk.
-No privacy on the bed (lacks curtains).
-No towels offered
It’s a cheap and seemingly safe place to sleep. The Asian lady who runs it seems quite polite and friendly.
But the facilities are old, worn out, dirty and in places moldy.
Montreal is an expensive city and Apéro is cheap and you get what you pay for. However, when you put 6 beds in one small room, and charge $40-50/each, you’re earning $200-300/night depending on occupancy. You would expect better conditions even for a hostel. This place is an old townhouse converted into a hostel and it’s small, cramped and generally fairly substandard compared to other auberges I’ve tried.
By comparison, M Montreal in the village, for a similar price/night is a 1000x better and much more professional with way more space and amenities.
Auberge Apéro is much smaller of course. But you can still be better organized and cleaner. This place is just worn out and needs a meaningful decluttering, repair, upgrading effort.
I would not go back.
The picture shows here as living room, they related to upstairs, downstairs was so dirty, i arrived 1:30 pm and was waiting for one locker key till 6 pm
the atmosphere there wasn't nice and safe
