The location of this property was outstanding; off by itself yet only about 15 minutes from Blue Ridge. Beds (and bedding) were all comfortable and the space was sufficient for all of us. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was a couple of safety concerns. There wasn't good indication, on the description of room/bathroom locations. I wanted my parents to stay in the master suite. In this house, the master is in the basement which meant walking up and down some scary/unsafe steps. My parents are in their 80's & 90's, so this proved somewhat challenging. I would not have rented the house had I know that, guess next time, if no notes on the property description, I'll have to remember to ask. The master suite also had no egress. I thought that was a bedroom requirement?? Some garlic bread was burned in the oven and there was a lot of smoke. Based on the amount of smoke, I was surprised that no detectors went off. I looked around and only found one in the bedroom upstairs. It appeared they are working on remodeling the property so some of these items will probably get taken care of. All in all, I would rent again but not with my parents along so the basement stairs wouldn't be as much of a safety concern. I also want to mention that the fireplace wasn't set up for use. It was full of battery-operated candles that didn't work, sort of disappointing.
