"This is definitely an older hotel. The staff was great! Very helpful and gracious. But the building itself and rooms are quite old. The elevator was old and loud and stopped working at one point. We have the AC cranked in our room and it did luckily stay cool enough, but the weather was also not super hot right then. So I anticipate that if we went in the very heat of summer, it would have been really hot in our room. Also, it is an older system so every time the air came on it was quite loud. It is cheaper than other Hamptons that you would see so I do believe that they have factor that in. But just know that with the lower price comes some of these quirks. There’s a lot of updating needed in the rooms. Chipping, paint and tile that needs repaired. So not a bad stay at all, just things to keep in mind. The location, however, is really ideal for being close to downtown, but not right in the craziness and traffic and parking issues. It felt kind of segregated from all of that which was really nice. Free parking on the street during the weekend or valet if you want it. Overall a good place to stay, decently priced, but you have some quirks that go along with that. Great staff!"

"Definitely not the quality you used to expect from this hotel. Nice but not elegant service anymore. Palace Arms menu is fixed price so choices are limited and you get everything from nicely dressed to tee shirts and shorts. Probably won’t stay again."
