"What a fabulous stay! The Sherman Inn was absolutely incredible - huge room (complete with Netflix on the TV), wonderful hosts, amazing breakfast, and the entire space so tastefully and historically maintained. We are now spoiled for all other hotels. Stay here - you'll love it!"

"I always enjoy staying at the Stonefence. They are upgrading the pool area so that wasn't available to swim in, but the beautiful river was! I hope that opening the restaurant will work out for them (they were doing a "soft opening" during the stay). I loved my lunch out on the patio, reading my book and seeing the river."

"The place was great! Location is was excellent, great sunrises and sunsets. Yes there's a marina bar downstairs, no it wasn't a problem, it was closed up by 8:30 each night and it was never rowdy. Whitney is a great host! There are definitely somethings that need a little work, but it wasn't a problem. One of the showers was out while we were there, but the other worked fine. Yes, the layout of the one shower is a little odd, but it works fine. It was very clean, there was no issues with odors. The air conditioning is a window unit, but was adequate - we were there the 2nd weekend in August, and it was the hottest weekend of the year, we were fine with it. It kept the living room cool during the day, and you open the windows and sliding glass doors at night. Yes, you have to climb stairs, but that's in the listing. The internet can be a little flaky (you're in a fairly remote place), but it worked well enough and we streamed movies in the evening no problem. I think some people have unrealistic expectations - this was a great visit and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. MUCH better than staying in even an upscale hotel."
