Even though we were a bit far from Berlin, we have nothing but compliments about our stay. The area was so walkable and felt very safe. The room itself was incredibly clean and everything worked perfectly. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The front desk, especially, made us feel exceptionally welcome. We were able to partake in the breakfast on our last day, and we wish we had been able to the other days. Staff were really friendly and although they didn’t speak much English, they tried. It is not stroller/wheelchair friendly. To access the reception you must go up a flight of stairs and to access the rooms you must go up 2 flights of stairs. There is a church right across the hotel that rings it’s bells every 30 minutes but besides that the area is really quiet and calm which was really nice.

Eichwalde is a quiet, residential town. I was planning a couple of long days at DESY-Zeuthen, one S-Bahn stop south of Eichwalde (or a nice 45 minute walk). I typically stay in Berlin proper, but wanted to give this a try. Anyway, I had a small, but very nice, single room. Checked in late via the intercom and key lock-box. I had a German speaker with me, but it seems likely it would have worked in any case. Breakfast was quiet, food and coffee were excellent.
