Lake Vibes Only ~ Intimate Lake Cottage in Mount Dora

Lake Vibes Only Property~ Never miss a sunset, the views from the windows are fabulous! Take a nice walk down to the lake and enjoy coffee from the dock or a morning paddle in one of our kayaks. Quirky yet charming, this 1952 cottage was once a Fish Camp. The original home was less than 150 sq ft, just large enough for a couple cots. Over the years space for a kitchen and full bathroom were added and eventually the front patio was enclosed. Now celebrating its 70th birthday, this holiday home has been fully renovated, eclectically decorated and includes plenty of fresh linens, kitchen essentials, coffee, wi-fi, and an outdoor grill and private patio facing the Lake.
Traveling with a large group? We have 4 additional cottages available on this property. Sunset (9459905) and Sunrise (2011321) Cottage are each 2 bedroom, 1 bath and sleep up to 4 each. Firefly Cottage (1723316) is a 2 bedroom 2 bath and will sleep up to 8, and lastly Lakey Daze Cottage(2394935) is a 3 bedroom 3 bath and will sleep up to 13.

Place is very quaint and clean. We had privacy being at the end, but didn't get to utilize the lake because of the weather. We brought our bicycles. Although you cannot bike to town, you must check out the trail in Minneola and Clermont. Bonnie was great with responding to my messages.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We had a great time at the lake! The house was adorable, clean and very comfortable. The lake is beautiful; we enjoyed kayaking and sitting on the dock. Mount Dora was a quick 10 mins away and has amazing food and shops. We will definitely be returning!

Lakeside gem!

We couldn’t get enough of sitting on the dock and enjoying the sunset, lake breeze and watching the fish and birds! Cottage was clean and had cute decor! We never saw the resident cat, as others described.. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet getaway during the holidays

We liked the cottage and the access to the dock for fishing. The neighborhood is quiet but close to Tavares and Mount Dora downtowns for Christmas and restaurants. We come up to the area at least yearly and would stay again when in the area.

Relaxing weekend getaway

The home was just the right size for our much needed rest and relaxation weekend getaway. The lake was a beautiful background and nice to sit and watch the sunset.

Location was perfect, on a lake for quietness and being away from the hustle and bustle. We were close to Mt. Dora, Apopka, Rennigers and other antique shops in the area.

Wonderful Cottage

The cottage was really nice and in a great location with lake views. Everything was spotless. Bobbie, the owner was very pleasant. The neighborhood cat, Lightning is very friendly and made our stay more enjoyable. We are definitely coming back.

Restful and peaceful

We felt such peace that we changed our outing to stay mostly at the house and relax. Bed was nice with very soft sheets. Great mix of decor and everything needed. Highly recommend stay.

Cute cottage in quiet area.

We were in town for a family wedding and this cottage was perfect for the two of us. The place was clean and it was not far from everything we wanted to do. We were able to walk down to the lake and enjoy the beautiful view. The town of Mt Dora was so fun. We would recommend the downtown area.

Sunset by the Lake

My wife, baby girl, and I stayed for the New Years weekend. We had a wonderful and relaxing experience. The cottage is charming and cozy. We were close to downtown and grocery/pharmacy. We hope to come back to Mount Dora.

Cute and clean

The house is small, but set up perfectly for 2 people. It is on a lake that is perfect for swimming, kayaking or floating which is what we did. The house was very clean and great communication with owner. Would definitely recommend!

Anniversary weekend

Bobbi was a great host. The place was clean and close to mount Dora. Unfortunately due to conditions from the hurricanes we were unable to access the lake and some other stuff .Bobbi did do her best to accommodate us. We would stay again under better circumstances to try to enjoy the lake.

Family emergency visit

The property was like a breath of fresh air. It gave us a feel of being home and close to my sick brother. Can’t wait to come back this summer. Having Lightning there also helps because he is a tremendous treasure.

Relaxing stay

Overall great stay. Minor glitch with clogged condensation line in the AC leaking on the floor was repaired and cleaned immediately due to great communication with the owner. AC took forever to cool the unit as it appeared it hadn’t been run. Only complaints are tiny bathroom and could use much more outdoor lighting.

Charming Cottage in the lake with a bonus lovely cat.

We loved everything on our stay there, the cottage was cozy and beautifully decorated we had fun enjoying the kayaks and fishing at the lake, the proximity with all the amenities in downtown is excellent - but what really made everything special was Lightning the cat that came to welcome us as soon as we arrived, my 3-year-old daughter fell in love with Lightning and after we left she continues to talk about the cat and how she misses Lightning until today, it was beautiful to see how they attached to each other, we even bough some snacks and left there for Lightning. We would love to come back to this place anytime. Beautiful and relaxing little cottage.

Fantastic!

This lovely cottage exceeded our expectations. If I could give it 10 out of 5 stars I would. Perfect for two people – I kayaked every morning – after enjoying coffee from the dock. The property is tranquil. Lake Ola is gorgeous. We’d end our day stargazing in the rocking chairs on the porch, or on the dock. The cottage is spotless. Keurig coffee maker, and a comfortable size kitchen with all we needed. I think it’s the cleanest VRBO I have ever stayed at. The bed was so comfortable – we slept great. Finally there is a super cool bonus cat that visited the property outside - he must’ve lived somewhere near the cottage…very sweet. The host was also great and communicated quickly and clearly. We will book again!
