"This place is just too special to property put into words. What a wonderful unique and quirky property unlike anything else you've possibly ever have come across before. This place has a very interesting history. We will definitely be coming back. Leave your outdoor foot ware at the front door foyer. You can only wear clean slippers or socks while staying here. Thems the rules!"

"Mary and Kevin were exceptional hosts. The VRBO was detailed and equipped with any and everything you could need during your stay. The rail trail was a bonus for us. Ride right out of your front door. Mary turned us on to an amazing hike near Tupper lake. Sweet with little to no fellow hikers. Worth the visit for hikers and bikers."
Bear Cabin on Lake Colby, Saranac Lake

"We stayed at Bear Cabin over Labor Day Weekend, 2026. The cabin was clean and well-stocked. While it seemed at first a bit tight for three adults and a Labrador retriever, we got used to the space quickly. The view is gorgeous, and it’s nice being next to the Town Beach. Having watercraft available to go out in the lake whenever you want is a big plus, as is the view of the sunrises and sunsets. And yes, Highway 86 is right there, But while it detracts from the lake vibe somewhat (again, you get used to it), that also means you can be downtown in three minutes. Leo and Claudia checked in on us regularly to make sure everything was OK. I would definitely rent from them again."

"What a great little place Trout Cabin is. The cabin was extremely well-supplied and convenient to the Lake Colby shore, with a public beach within walking distance. Kayaks and canoes were readily available onsite and the cabin was thoughtfully stocked and furnished. I had a wonderful stay."
