"We had a wonderful stay! This house definitely gives that cozy cabin feel while also being spacious. We've never had a rental with such a large bedroom! It’s built for views from every room, and the huge screened in porch and outdoor deck get you into the trees. The kitchen was ready for all our needs. Windows on all sides were opened wide for breezes and forest sounds as we slept. The CD collection encouraged us to stay unplugged. But the biggest highlight was the birdfeeders. Keep them filled with seed (it's supplied), and look up a hummingbird nectar recipe - you won't be disappointed!As for the Host - Mr Childs is a Champ! This is not just a rental, it's a place he and his family love and he cares about your guest experience. He went way beyond to assist with every question or need. And he's got lots of area facts and tips if you are interested. Bottom line, he is a super nice person!Special shout out to the Cedar Mountain community, which is small but mighty. If you wonder about being away from a larger town, don't worry! Benefits are being literally in the forest (DuPont), within a very welcoming community, that has just enough amenities from artisan's shops to food and drink. The Cdr. Mtn. Cafe (very good, very fresh food), Outpost (beer, food, pizza, provisions, events), and Distillery (especially for Friday evening bands and moonshine slushies) all do a great job."

"The kitchen was well stocked with all the cookware we needed for our homecooked dinners. We had plenty of room for privacy and then for our book discussions in the living room or on the porch. The view was incomparable, the solitude priceless, the rest badly needed by all. Many thanks to our host for a wonderful stay!"

"The property was absolutely beautiful and we had a great time ……just be sure to get groceries before coming or at Brevard. Since it’s at least 15-20 minutes. We got lost going to the cabin with our vehicle gps. Since it’s a mountainous area, I recommend giving landmarks such as turning at the fire station etc. We never saw the turn for Reasonover Rd. because we didn’t see the street sign if there was one. That is our only complaint."
