So the area around is typically India…spots of wealth and spots of extreme poverty. The room we were provided did NOT have any windows so it felt more like a cell then a room. The bathroom was subpar and so not have any high expectations about it. The room itself was clean BUT the linens were really old and worn out. The TV did not work. My wife and I did NOT shower and waited to get to our other hotel. This is the Red Roof Inn of India for my US travelers.

Stay away!

The room had visible mold on the wall and smelled so bad we really couldn't be there for more than couple of minutes. Thankfully we had booked the hotel for only a few hours before leaving to airport, so didn't have to spend the night there. The staff was friendly, but the neighborhood was awful and it was almost impossible to get an Uber there to get out of the place. It was cheap, should have guessed from that, but we didn't see anybody mentioning mold in the reviews.

A place to crash

We stayed for one night and got what we expected. It is a very simple hotel, but everything worked (except the wifi, for which you need to have a phone number to send a code to, so it was a bit tricky to access). The front desk was friendly enough and happy to give some advice or book a taxi/tuk-tuk. It is not really located in an interesting area (staff even told us that there is nothing to see around there), but you get a glimpse of the 'real Mumbai'. There is a lovely restaurant just 5 min walk away, but you'll need an hour in a taxi to get to the Gateway of India for example.

Adequate for a night, noise and cigarette smoke

Our first room was small but adequate (132sq ft, listed as 170sqft), but noise insulation was appalling - we could hear the man next door as if he was in our room. They willingly moved us - our second room was much quieter, but smelt of cigarette smoke and had a lot of mosquitoes (all rooms have ashtrays, so I assume the smell could be common). Breakfast was reasonable - Indian options, toast, cornflakes, watermelon. Only tea, no coffee. An easy 10 minute taxi ride to the international terminal, and a good restaurant 250m away for dinner. If you're travelling via the domestic terminal it's twice as far and traffic more of a problem. It wasn't terrible, but we would book somewhere else another time - particularly to get a guaranteed non-smoking room (our clothes smelt strongly of smoke when we unpacked our cases).

Reasonable clean hotel with extremely nice staff

We booked this hotel for a few hotels and had a comfortable stay. Rooms are clean for Indian standards and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our suitcases missed our connecting flight and the staff helped us to arrange to get the suitcases back. The location of the hotel was convenient if you want to be close to the airport, otherwise it was quite far from all the main sites. As the traffic is really bad it can take over an hour to get somewhere in town. Our room did not get cleaned for two days as they forgot about our room! We didn't mention anything the first time as we weren't sure if it's normal to get your room cleaned in an Indian budget hotel. After a while though we asked for some toilet roll and towels and they then realised they didn't clean our room. They immediately sent someone though. Recommended staying here if you're on a budget and looking for a reasonable clean hotel.

Comfortable stay, not far from the airport. The room is very clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was sliced bread and tea. We had trouble finding the place and couldn't find a phone number to call and get directions. After that, the stay was quite pleasant.
