"We arrived late and although it was slightly complicated at first as we had to WhatsApp to get access to the building, and then had codes for the interior doors, once we were in we were very happy. The room was very nice, as was the bathroom and we were able to use the kitchen area as well. Aircon was very welcome to help with sleep. It was anlso useful to be able to log into our tv apps. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice and we were able to leave our luggage all day before we collected it...

"We arrived on train and it was 7:20pm. Gave outstanding directions to b&b which was right across courtyard next to McDonalds upstairs. Had old school single person elevator/manually close doors which was fun. Really clean modern place/room. Think 5 rooms off main hallway. Didn’t get breakfast because we were leaving next morning but offered it for fee. Staff was amazing. Location was great. Went to nearby restaurant where they sing classic Italian songs loudly. Great stay!"

There is no front desk but there is no need for one. The host is very responsive in assisting you in giving detailed information for whatever you need. He even booked a taxi for us at 4:00 a.m. to get back to the airport!"

Sparano Palace

8/10 Good

"This hotel is in an excellent location if you want to walk to restaurants, shops, and to see downtown Bari. Our room was luxurious with all the comfortable amenities. The aromatherapy shower was a unique feature. It’s a small boutique hotel with a tiny lobby featuring a bar right inside the lobby right off the main downtown plaza. The reception desk is no bigger than a hostess stand in a restaurant. The staff were very responsive and helpful. They assisted us with all necessary transportation arrangements and allowed us early check in. However, it’s a very busy area and the only complaint we had during our stay was the fact that the noise from the lobby and the elevator travels right up the center of the narrow hotel so it was noisy in our third floor room until about 11 PM. Unfortunately, we had a 4 AM pick up to go to the airport so we were not able to get to sleep as early as we wanted. Otherwise this is a very nice, convenient, clean, beautiful place to stay with good service."
