The amenities are ridiculous in the best sense. Free minibar. An open bar with hot and cold drinks available all day. Cakes, cookies, savory bites — just there, whenever you want them. An indoor spa with a pool and sauna. These aren’t things you expect to be included; you expect to find a fee attached to each of them. There wasn’t. Breakfast was excellent too — not an afterthought, actually excellent. Here’s the thing: there are plenty of hotels in Paris that sell you on atmosphere and deliver a letdown. Astra Opera is the opposite. It overdelivers on everything it promises, quietly and without making a fuss about it. It’s not hard to understand why it sits at #1 on hotels lists.
