Beautiful scenic outdoor bath, comfortable beds, and good meals. Change rooms were clean, but very run down. Non-smoking room still smelled like smoke, which seems to be normal for big old ryokans. If you really want to avoid smoke, stay in a newer place. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely lovely hotel with a charming owner. The owner Lady had a lovey evening show every evening - quite a special experience. The onsen deparments were super good. Loved the restaurant with authentic Japanese food. If you are not used to Japanese breakfast and dinner this is a good opportunity to try it. Wifi was fine also in the room. The surroundings are great: a small Japanese village with beautiful nature.

車の受付、チェックインからお風呂、食事全て大満足です。夜の提灯散歩も楽しくて良い思い出になりました。 ただ、ユニットバスが発生源と思われる部屋の臭いがなかなかキツくて私は辛かったので、たまたまこの部屋だけかもしれませんが、総合点で星をひとつ減らします。

決してスマートでは無いが、スタッフの一生懸命お客様に対応しようとする姿勢は素晴らしい。女将自ら表現豊かな紙芝居、ウィットに富んだお客様へのショーの司会等行っており、その接客姿勢がスタッフへ浸透しているように見受けられた。建物自体は古く、今回の客室のユニットバスのドアが開けづらく、またユニットバスに入る際の段差を埋める踏み台が、客室の入口ドアの真下にあり、入室時、躓き危険だった。また、ユニットバスのドアと便器が接近しすぎており、トイレの使い勝手が最悪である事に加えユニットバスの清掃が不十分で、四隅の一角が黒ずんでいる部分があり残念。温泉があるためユニットバスの使用は少ないと思われるが、目に入る部分でもあるため注意が必要だと思う。 夕朝食とも、量・質的には満足できるレベルだと思う。ただ、会場の天井等に雨漏りの跡等が多く見られるのも、不衛生ととるべきか、風情と取るべきか。。 温泉施設は古いものの、多くの支持を得られている通り、泉質も良く満足できる。特に女将のトークを聞いた翌朝の温泉入浴は、蘊蓄を確認しながら楽しめ、満足できるものだった。 施設の古さをスタッフのサービスでカバーしている宿と言うべきかな？ 再訪するか？と問われれば、機会があれば再訪する可能性は非常に高いと答えると思う。

初めて四万温泉に行きましたが、温泉も旅館もとても良かったです。 食事も良かったですし、女将とスタッフによるイベントも楽しめました。 部屋も施設もとても綺麗でした。 唯一部屋のユニットバスのトイレが狭かったくらいです。
