Cons • Fixed Climate Control: During my stay in cold weather, the building was set to heating only with no central AC. Because the temperature isn't adjustable, the room became quite hot and stuffy. While opening the window helped cool things down, it did let in street noise. • Traditional Key System: The hotel uses physical keys rather than access cards. Guests are required to return the key to the front desk every time they leave the building, even for a quick trip to a convenience store. Overall Verdict This is a solid choice for travelers who prioritize a fantastic location and great service. However, if you are looking for a sleek, modern hotel with high-tech amenities and individual climate control, this might not be the best fit for you."

"This was the Prime Location!!! A complete mall below the hotel with underground connection to Ikebukuro station. Only a ten minute walk to the train station that has access to all the major parts of Tokyo. We could not have been happier. The room was nice and our view from the 33rd floor was gorgeous. Good shower and tub. Provided our pajamas and fresh linens daily. Even a family mart right next to the elevator. We ate the best ramen of our entire trip only 200m away from the hotel. "

"The room layout causes problems compared to even smaller rooms in Japan. The bed consumes the entire width of the room, which means one partner needs to climb over the other when using the bathroom in the middle of the night. There's street noise (aka: "music") all night long. Literally 24/7 — pounding drums Thursday at 4 AM. The bathroom is quite large, making the rest of the space smaller than you might expect (notwithstanding the bed is wedged in perfectly). The bathroom is elevated by about 8 inches; stepping in is fine, but coming out into the room always seemed awkward. My partner and I both independently agreed we felt we would fall on the floor or crash into the wall while exiting the bathroom. We leared to brace ourselves when exiting, but this is bad design for a room expected to be used short-term for first-timers. The single-gender hot tubs are pretty nice on the top floor. Unfortunately, the outside one was closed, so I didn't get to check it out with the accompanying views from the 27th floor. The elevators are a disaster. We were on the 22nd floor. Even at non-crowded times you can wait 3+ minutes for the elevator to arrive. You get in going down (already people in the elevator). Then it stops 10 times on the way down. After a while the elevator is completely full so it stops, nobody can get in, and then continues down to ground level. Reprogram to not stop using the fact that weight didn't change at previous stop when the doors opened."

"This is in a prime location from Sugamo Station. Only about 2 minutes walk that makes it very convenient. Check in and check out is flawless. The bath at the top of the building is always a plus. 3 things that they can improve is to maybe have a air purifier in the room to trap the dust, be able to control the room temperature to your liking (somehow it was either heat or cold but can't control which one you want), and the number of laundry machines. I stayed 4 nights but never saw the laundry available until the day I checked out. "

"The room was clean, as was the property. The bathroom is very small, was smaller than expected. Couldn't close the bathroom door and be comfortable while seated on the toilet. If I was shorter (am 5'8") perhaps would have worked. The location is very good for train access, 7/11 access and many great food options. The location is basically in an action packed area and the loud sounds of sirens/police/ambulances was constant all around the clock - for any street facing room, it seems like they're right outside your window - so be aware if you're staying there with a baby or a light sleeper. The staff were lovely and easy to communicate with. Would stay here again but would request a room that wasn't facing the main street."
