The Swans Nest Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The Swan's Nest is in a great location, by the river and a short walk into the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our club room had a nice large comfortable bed, a separate sitting area with TV, the shower was really powerful and the bath robes were nice to have. Tea, coffee, biscuits and water were in the room, as was a small fridge. The room was slightly dated but this didn't affect our stay at all. Parking is limited, but worth the £10 charge (we stayed 1 night) We would definitely recommend this hotel."

Chesford Grange Hotel

8/10 Good

"Overall, we found the hotel to be of reasonably high standard. The room was good, although missing a few refreshments at times, and the shower was held up by an elastic hair band! The signage throughout could do with improvement, as the breakfast room/restaurant is difficult to find if you have not stayed there before. The entrance seems to have a permanent "CAR PARK FULL" sign at the entrance, presumably to deter non-residents, and the exit barrier needs a code, but always seems to be open anyway."

Whately Hall

"The Whately Hall was even better than we expected. The room was large and airy with everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. The evening meal was served by a very polite waitress for whom nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was self service with a choice of continental and a Full English Breakfast with a choice of how you wanted your eggs cooked. Or both if you had enough room. All the staff were exceptionally well mannered and it was clear that they were there to help whenever they were needed. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay."
