"We loved our stay overall. The place was beautiful and spacious, and the architectural details and lighting were lovely. There was only 1 bed, which was a little disappointing to our adult children. Other places we’ve stayed in Japan have specified if a bedroom had only mats, but this listing indicated beds in all 3 bedrooms. It was still a nice place to stay. I only mention this to suggest that the listing could be more accurate if it was clear that only bedroom 1 has a true bed. "

The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were especially helpful as my mother-in-law had injured her foot and couldn’t use the stairs. Upstairs, the shower and bath experience was truly divine—exactly what we needed after long days...

"Very convenient, well appointed and handy to transport. We didn't visit the national park so the mandatory rating is irrelevant. Our only problem was disposing of rubbish - not everything could be sorted into the small bins available so we had no choice but to leave a large rubbish bag. We would certainly stay there again if we're back in Kyoto."
