Our Very Private Log Cabin Retreat is situated on your private bank of the beautiful Chalk Creek, and is nestled in the heart of Colorado's most spectacular 14,000 foot Peaks, (Mount Princeton, Antero, Yale), and the Famous White Chalk Cliffs, overlooking Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Pools. Visit the recently awarded Browns Canyon National Park, which is just a short drive away. Spend your day just relaxing with the sound of Chalk Creek at your back yard or adventure out for a day of rafting, horseback riding, fishing, hiking, ATVing along with all the winter activity. For Skiing, Monarch is about an hour away along with all the other major ski resorts like ski cooper, Brechenridge, Copper, Vail etc.. just a bit further. Our 1,200 sq.ft., two bedroom Log Cabin is surrounded by spectacular quaking Aspens and Mature Pines, with views of Mt. Princeton and Antero just outside your living room/kitchen windows. Relax on one of two decks, or enjoy sitting in a forest eco-system overlooking the rushing waters of Chalk Creek. Enjoy our new outdoor fireplace which can be used even during fire restrictions. If you enjoy fishing, test your skills in one of the many nearby lakes, or just walk a few feet down to your private 200 feet of creekside fishing.

Our authentic Log Cabin has a Southwestern/Mountain decor and has been restored with all the modern conveniences while maintaining its rustic charm. The living room has a large wood burning fireplace, satellite with 50”flat screen TV, Vaulted tongue and groove Aspen ceilings, and ample seating.

The master bedroom has a luxurious king-size bed, vaulted ceilings, 46” TV, skylights with block out shades. The second bedroom has two twin size beds.

The large kitchen/dining area has all the modern conveniences along with a working antique cast iron cook stove, if you choose to cook the old fashion way. Enjoy a small camp fire on those chilly nights. If you like to ATV and/or Snowmobile, our location is perfect for connecting to a multitude of trails without having to trailer to them to a trail head. No trailers larger that 21 ft allowed.

Nearby activities include white-water rafting, hiking, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, golf etc., or simply relax in one of Colorado's best Olympic size, Natural Mountain Hot Spring Pools. Free fiber based WiFi for our guests along with Fire TV.

More beautiful than the pictures convey! Peaceful, gorgeous location. Cabin filled with windows, including a skylight in the bedroom so you can view stars from your bed. Best place I've ever stayed in the mountains. Can't wait to return!

A little gem of a place in a beautiful setting! The cabin gives of a perfect mountain feel, secluded, quite other than for the sound of the river, with comfy beds and gorgeous views! Close to fishing, dog friendly and we even saw a moose! So happy we could bring our furry family members, it makes all the difference, and the hosts were on site, friendly and very helpful! Hoping we can come back someday!

Very beautiful property with nature sounds all around. Katie, the host, met us on property and made sure we were checked in and had everything we needed. She was very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed her recommendations on things to do in the area.

My good friend and I stayed there for a few nights and really enjoyed it. The property is fantastic. Very serene and close to some excellent ATV/4x4 trails as well as numerous other activities. The hosts were wonderful and were there to greet us and make sure we were all set. Can’t recommend it enough. We look forward to going back!

My only comment would be that I wish the listing said to bring your own fire wood for both the outdoor and indoor fireplace. Other than that it was a great clean well stocked place, and I would stay again!

Wonderful place to get away and relax. Easy access, but not in a high traffic area. Close enough to stores and activities, but once there you may not want to leave! Able to unplug and reset, but still had all the conveniences needed to keep teenagers happy. We had a great time and would love to return in the fall to see the Aspens in color sitting on the deck.

Absolutely beautiful, cozy cabin in a very special place. You are remote from the craziness but you feel so safe! Nurturing place. We recovered from an intense city life in just a few days. Highly recommend. Hosts are incredible people. Welcomed us as dear guests. So much love for you guys!!!

This rental is exactly as described and promised. The house is warm, comfortable, inviting and kept very well. We stayed in the winter but cannot wait to get back here and stay in the summer because of that beautiful deck. The setting is peaceful, the kitchen is very well stocked, and our family of four enjoyed every minute of all three nights we spent here. A real gem.

Our family had an awesome experience right away with simple check in and great communication with our hosts. The cabin was super clean, stocked with what we needed, and an even better location than what we expected. The private access to chalk creek was picturesque and the perfect place to soak in the solitude and unwind. We had a great time enjoying the nearby "ghost town" in St Elmo feeding the chipmunks by hand, hiking nearby 14ers, and getting a little town exposure in Buena Vista. We've spent quite a bit of time in Colorado in the last few years and this is our favorite cabin so far. We hope to visit again soon.

We loved this cabin! It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of utensils for cooking. The deck was amazing. But, the best thing about the whole property was the location! I really don’t have the words. We saw dear in the area every day and, one day, three just came walking through the yard. You can sit on the deck and look at Mt. Antero, a 14er as they say. Seriously, we all were very sad to leave. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin in Nona's Woods! The rustic cabin is exactly what we were looking for and it was all we hoped it would be...and then some. It was quiet, close to the Chalk Creek, deep in the woods, lots of stars, cool temperatures at the Cabin's elevation. No light pollution at night so you can really get a great view of the stars and the Milkey Way. Many great hiking trails within the forest near the cabin plus a short drive to a historic mountain ghost town. We brought a lot of food with us and had most meals at the cabin which was great for our family of four adults. The outdoor grill came in very handy. Our hosts were gracious, helpful, and kind. They were close when needed but gave us the space we needed to feel like we were home in their cabin! I can't say enough good things about our stay and experiences. I miss being there already. We will be back!

Spent 4 nights in mid-August and thoroughly enjoyed it! Katie is a gracious host, answering questions before arrival and greeting us with a quick overview when we checked in. She and her husband Curt live in the house next door, but you would never know it. Nice to know they are close by in case something is needed. The cabin is fully equipped, from the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and outdoors. Wi-Fi is fantastic, as no cell service was noted by us. Enjoyed a doe and her two fawns each evening around happy hour. Chalk Creek borders the back of the property and is very soothing. Don't miss the nearby ghost town of St. Elmo or a leisurely hike along the Railroad Trail (starts just east of the Cascade Campground). If you like picnics, the Iron City Campground (St. Elmo) has nicely shaded tables along Chalk Creek. We definitely recommend this property!

We loved the cabin and the setting! Hearing the creek at night was very peaceful. We had everything we needed in the cabin. We had dinner a couple of night at the cabin. I do suggest getting needed items in Buena Vista before checking in. My only thing I wish was a little better was the WiFi. Our cell phones did not work but we could use the land line in the cabin. But in a way, it was good we didn't have our cell phones to distract from the beauty around us. Overall, we loved it! We hope to return!
