"The room was lovely and comfortable, well-furnished and spacious. The bathroom facilities were fine but desperately needed an update. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal but unfortunately chose the wrong night. A couple of big birthday celebrations were happening and the restaurant was extremely busy. This didn’t detract from the excellent food and service we received. The breakfast was also fantastic, 10/10. We couldn’t fault the staff, who were excellent throughout our stay"

"The Golden Fleece in Thirsk was all you could ask for in a small inn/pub/restaurant located in a North Yorkshire market town. We have stayed in hotels all across Britain and Ireland on this trip. The Fleece was our best experience."

"Only stayed briefly overnight and didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food or other facilities. Pros - very clean, quick check in/out from friendly staff, room was spacious and bed was comfy. However, it’s very tired and dated - floorboards squeaked, and the fittings/furniture etc is overdue a refresh and refurbishment. Didn't really detract from an overnight stay, but did mean the hotel lacked a luxury feel."

"Place was nice, toilets where...ok. i had an issue with parking. I was told there was an overflow parking area, i walked all round site never found it. A sign would have been useful. The road going in was dreadful, pot holes, bumpy and rutted. Otherwise the cabin was nice."

"Lovely, modern room in quiet setting. We booked room only but other facilities eg hot tubs were available to book. Comfortable bed and good shower. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room."
