"Some of the best views you could ask for with the local cows coming out at night, bringing the soothing sounds with them. It was very hot for the time of year and no AC in my room. They did offer a fan and with the windows open, it was still comfortable to sleep. No iron available so bring your own if that’s a necessity. "

"Great Stay, about 7-8 mins walk to the nearest Hbf/Bahnhof (train + bus). Room was adequate as well as the bathroom! Tap water is fresh and clean (as much as in most, if not all parts of Switzerland - otherwise said). Temperature control on the water pressure is fantastic, you can get really cold water or really hot water if you wanted the extremes. Bed comfy for two, TV great. Breakfast was good, just your regular cold cuts, bread, yogurt, juice/coffee, fruits, hard boiled eggs! delicious! Otherwise, comfortable stay! however just a future recommendation (for summer time especially and maybe winter) but a ice machine for the guest to get some delicious ice in a small insulated cooler (for each room)? since there is no A/C (only a small portable fan which is better than nothing) and no individual fridge (which both of these are not evident in many hotels). The ice would be very refreshing in the summer time!"

The atmosphere throughout the Gasthof is one of comfort and genuine care. For families with small kids, the "Spielparadies" (play paradise) would be an absolute game-changer. The extensive outdoor playground, with its unique and beloved Liliput Railway are surely amazing . The indoor play area is also a fantastic bonus, ensuring fun even on a rainy day. This focus on family-friendly amenities truly sets CHÄRNSMATT apart. Beyond the incredible play facilities, the culinary experience was a highlight. The breakfast was one of the best in our entire Europe trip. Especially a lady staff with a very beautiful smile, greeted us with a genuine, warm smile and a cheerful "Good morning!" that instantly brightened our day. Her energy was infectious, and she created such a welcoming and positive atmosphere in the breakfast area. "

"Restaurant staff were amazing! Hotel rooms are very hot & the beds very uncomfortable, but it’s one of the cheapest hotels you can find in Switzerland that isn't an hostel! Bathrooms are nice too for the place. Transportation is easy via bus that comes every 30 minutes. "
