Had a great stay. Place is rustic but was just fine for us and our little furbaby. The views from the room balcony are absolutely amazing. Great location too.
Amazing Inn even under construction. The rooms are so cozy and comfortable. Loved the balcony overlooking the river. Could not have had a better experience
We were celebrating our Anniversary there. Our room was great, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom VERY spacious! Especially loved the innovative tv (it took us a minute to find it, looked so much like a painting framed on the wall instead of a tv.
It is being renovated so the outside is a little rough still but the inside and rooms are gorgeous. It’s going to be perfect when it’s all said snd done. Location is great snd walkable to Gruene Hall.
Me and my wife came for our anniversary and is was exactly what we were looking for. Great bed, views and everything is within walking distance you could want. Tons of food options, 2 good coffee options and shoping. They were in the middle of construction but even during the day very little noise. Would recommend for anniversarys, night out or even a business trip get away.
We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. Beautifully decorated. Beds and pillows were so comfortable. Rooms were quiet and very clean. Short walk to the dance hall and restaurants. Each room had a view of the river. Smelled wonderful!!!! We will be back for sure.

The halls, patio, and rooms are lovely. Really nice update. Staff was wonderful. View is amazing and so nice to have a balcony. Property is still being updated, so that is coming…
Our stay was wonderful. It was very comfortable. We love all the changes and updates that are happening, it is even better.
Very close to one of our favorites places, Gruene Hall! We will be back soon!
A lot of construction but the rooms are quaint and comfy. The beds are UNBELIEVABLE!! We’re actually buying one from the manufacturer. The staff are amazing. As long as you’re ok with construction crews being around (we didn’t hear a bunch of noise) it’s a great place.
Very simple, quiet and plain. No fuss, no muss. It was lovely but very small and scaled down. Rooms are small and tidy.

This place will be a jewel once the renovation is done. For now the outside is not welcoming but the rooms are amazing and the investors made sure of that. Every room has amazing river views. You can catch the sunset right out of your balcony. The hostess is amazing, she made us feel at ease although the renovations weren’t all done yet. The price we paid was reasonable and if the price stays the same once they are fully operational then this place is an excellent place to stay.

They were remodeling which we understand. Room was great, remodeled & clean. Being Sr’s, the stairs to the check in area and then another flight to the room was hard on us. I should have requested a lower floor. Breakfast unavailable.
We loved our visit! Most of the hotel was under renovation but it wasnt even very noisey from in the room. The room itself if lovely, cozy, and well equipped. Down to the shampoo dispensers to the Nespresso machine. The views from the balcony are wonderful and make you feel like you are farther away from the xity than you are. Downtown Gruene is still walkable from the hotel, though it is a little way down the road from the main footprint. We even would walk by deer to and from the Inn. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Cant wait to come back when the rest of the hotel is completed.
Beautiful renovation, not quite finished with all the other rooms. Need to add shelves above the toilet for guests to put their toiletries. Not enough space. Other than that, very nice room.

Pretty view but yikes
The staff was friendly. The location was good. The hotel is pretty run down and dated, granted it is currently going through some renovations so I have no idea what that might change. The view from the back side is beautiful but terrifying. The slanted, worn wood balcony sitting precariously over a large drop off did not make us want to stay outside at all. The un-level floor in our room was significant enough that if you drop something it rolls downhill toward the river. It made us both feel pretty uneasy. We won't be staying again.
What a cute little Inn. We stayed in the Shania room, cute little room with fantasic view.
10 out of 10 on bed comfort, it was the most comfortable bed I've slept in a long time. The room is small but perfectly adequate for a short term stay. The shower has body wash, shampoo and conditioner and it very nicely sized. In addition to the Kcup machine outside in the hallway/ lobby there is Nespresso machine in the room. Cute little fridge in the rooms too, ours had water and coke and diet coke, that was a nice touch.
We were there during construction but it did not effect us and check in was a breeze.
There is cute outdoor patio area on property and the Inn is within walking distance ( 9 min walk) to town and dance hall.
They text you before arrival and upon check in with your door code, no keys which is nice. You can also communicate through text for anything you need, I text early in the morning a request and response was prompt.
I hope to come back once construction is done to see what they've done to this little gem of a hotel.
The Gruene River Inn is currently undergoing renovations. There is much to still be done, however our room , The Wynonna, was very nice. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and our view from our balcony was very nice. The large shower was nice but I’d preferred it all enclosed instead of half open. The lighting is poor and no counter space for for personal hygiene products. A fold down shelf or slim portable rolling cart would have been convenience ideal fix. The staff was exceptionally accommodating and welcoming and great with updates and hospitality. The patio area was nice and great place to hang out with friends. Parking was a bit of an issue. Other guests were considerate of their parking, other guests, not so much. Overall we enjoyed our stay and perhaps the next time we visit Gruene the renovations will be complete. Hopefully the landlords will upgrade on the lighting & shelf storage for the bathrooms.
This property was under renovation when we stayed. They did a good job alerting us to this so no surprise there. Good communication ahead of time. This is a very small property. Check in hours were 3:00 - 6:00 and if you needed a time after 6:00 you need to let them know. After 6:00, the only person working the property left so you are kind of on your own. You have contact with someone via text if you need anything, which we did, and they were responsive. Someone was back in the morning around 8:00.
Parking was easy. They offered to help bring our bags upstairs (no elevator) for us, but we managed. Perhaps there is an elevator in the lobby which was being renovated. There is a nice large deck on the right side of the property. Property is right on the river so easy access to that.
The views from the balcony were lovely. The room is cozy and clean and the beds and pillows super comfortable. There is a small fridge/freezer and a Nespresso in the room. No closet and limited drawers for storage so if you are staying more than a night that might be a problem. We were downstairs and woken by the people walking upstairs, but that isn't the property's fault. Maybe ask for an upstairs room if you are worried about this.
Great location. Very walkable to the shops and restaurants close by. We would definitely stay there again.
