This park is always full of bikers and as far as I can tell this is the only stretch of trail restricted to hikers, making it quieter and better for spotting wildlife than some of the more heavily traveled trails. Be aware that there are alligators in the park, so be careful if approaching the water's edge along the trail.

Country RV

Property is easy to find just off I-45, close to Huntsville and LSHT. Host responds quickly to questions. RV is clean and comfy with privacy. Highway noise was muffled by a Sleep noise app. Host offered to pick up/drop off hikers on the LSHT. No barking dogs or crowing roosters. Property has pretty pastures with wildflowers and shade trees.
