The hotel was perfectly fine overall. The lobby and bar area are clearly newly renovated and look great—though the bar was unfortunately closed when we arrived. Our room was very spacious, with large, comfortable beds and a fantastic shower, though the décor felt a bit dated and bland.
There was only one bathrobe provided despite there being two of us, but when we requested hot water, a kettle and cups were promptly delivered, which was appreciated. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
It’s evident that parts of the hotel have been updated while others haven’t, so the quality feels a bit inconsistent. We didn’t try the breakfast—$29 for a continental buffet seemed steep, and there only appeared to be black coffee available (no lattes or cappuccinos), though complimentary coffee is offered in the lobby each morning, which is a nice touch.
The location is excellent—just a couple of minutes’ walk to the subway with plenty of great cafés and restaurants nearby. We especially recommend Caffe Vita around the corner.
Overall, a convenient and comfortable base for a couple of nights, even if it lacks a bit of atmosphere or character.
