Our room at the ROW Hotel was clean and the towels and bedding were excellent.
The hotel was under construction, so there was construction noise during the day.
Our room was initially very cold regardless of how we set the thermostat. We discovered that both a heating and cooling unit were running simultaneously. After turning off the cooling unit, we were able to make the room comfortable.
There was a closet in our room, but there were no hangers to hang clothing.
On the first night of our stay, our room did not have a trash can. One showed up on our second day.
We were unable to get our TV to operate in our room. I called the front desk and was told that instructions were in the room and we could follow the QR code to get the TV operational. We tried doing this but still had no luck. There was an interactive online chat that we used to try to get help, but the promised help never arrived.
The hotel offered an ice machine, but our room had no container for ice or glasses to use.
On our second night stay, we ran out of hot water after one of us showered.
Although we paid for our room when booking on Expedia, we were charged an extra ‘resort fee’ of $91.80.
Overall our stay was comfortable and convenient, but we will most likely try a different hotel on our next visit to NYC.

The hotel has a great location, but the front desk staff was disappointing. On the day we checked out, we asked for bottles of water and the receptionist was rude and said they do not offer water to guests.

We stayed at Row NYC this past weekend, which happened to be their first day reopening. Unfortunately, the experience fell well below expectations due to a series of basic operational issues.
Check-in took over an hour because of IT system problems. When we finally reached the front desk, the hotel was unable to provide functioning room keys, and we had to be escorted to our room by staff.
Once inside, we found the room was not properly prepared: there were no pillows, no bath towels, no hangers in the closet, and even some loose wires left on the nightstand—likely from recent maintenance or installation work. We contacted the front desk, and while they did resolve the issues, it took another hour of our time.
The problems didn’t stop there. After initially fixing the key issue, it reoccurred the following evening. On our final morning, we were unable to take a shower due to a lack of hot water, which was another significant inconvenience.
To be fair, the hotel staff we interacted with were consistently kind, professional, and clearly doing their best under difficult circumstances. However, the overall experience suggests serious gaps in management and readiness—especially for a reopening.
Given the number of fundamental issues, I cannot recommend staying here until these operational problems are fully addressed.
Our stay at Row NYC was memorable.
You can’t beat the location—right in Times Square and close to everything. The hotel has a sleek, modern feel, and our room upgrade with stunning city views made the experience even better.
What truly stood out was the hospitality—especially Joe. He went above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome, always smiling, connecting, and creating a great atmosphere. He made us feel right at home.
Highly recommend for the location, design, views, and exceptional service!
