Wonderful

Property is nice. Great views and comfortable beds. Entire staff is pretty rude. From the people at the front desks to the pool area telling us “we only have 2 hours to use the pool” from the moment we walked in. As hotel guests, that’s ridiculous.
The elevator situation was a nightmare. The hotel had two working elevators and yet one of them was mostly reserved for private events! It’s as if they didn’t care about their hotel guests. We often waited 25 minutes for an elevator. And the front desk responded “well one elevator has been broken for three weeks and it will get fixed today”. That never happened. This hotel
Was way too expensive for service like this.
Views of the skyline from the wraparound balcony were epic. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly from front desk to luggage attendants to housekeeping staff. Great location and vibe in Williamsburg! I highly recommend this hotel!!!
I wish there were firm pillows on the bed!
Other than that, everything with our stay was great from valet to pool deck service

It’s ok but gets really busy with non hotel related traffic (pool and restaurants are open to the public) and the elevators to the guest rooms and event spaces are all the same Had I known, would’ve booked somewhere else tbh.

Disliked: Staff & service
There was a consistent loud banging on the wall in my room, sounded like doors slamming but it was coming from the shower. The room was very cheaply put together. Lights didn’t work. The staff was dismissive. When I arrived on time, they told me my room wasn’t ready, then I waited in a loud room with a man vacuuming, when I went back to the front desk, the guy wasn’t there and he never came to get me to let me know the room was ready.
The William Vale is a very cool hotel and we loved staying in Williamsburg with our two boys. Provided a nice break from the pace of Manhattan, but easy to get into the city on the L Train.
Our room was nice, albeit a little scuffed up all around - could just use some touchups.
What we really struggled with were all the limitations around kids. We arrived late in the afternoon and were grabbing a quick bite at the rooftop. The staff was fine, but a little passive aggressive about kids being up there, despite being ahead of the 6pm 'curfew' for kids.
Same thing for the pool - kids are only allowed from 8-12. And, in the morning, it's jam-packed with local families using ResortPass.
All of that is fine, but they should really give reservations with kids included a heads up on the restrictions - get that it's a younger part of town, and perhaps more of a party hotel. But, make it Adults Only or send a note to people booking with kids about this aspect. We booked a hotel with a pool specifically due to it being July, so barely having access was super disappointing.
Water bugs and ants crazy in the balconies no toiletries, over priced, not what we had hoped, food tiny portions, this is a trendy place ice room and bathroom rain shower but the bed didn't have a top sheet, we paid over 1K and no top sheet… only a duvet cover… and my husband and I both were bit somehow in the room while sleeping idk… many will like it, not us though
Very disappointed with the level of of service at the pool. Upon check in, front desk did not advise I needed to book complimentary seating at the pool days in advance. Trying to get a seat was absolutely ridiculous and the staff was not helpful at all. When I brought it to their attention that multiple people came in before and after us and were given seats, the manager said they were not aware of that - packed pool, cloudy water, poor bev and food service coupled with poor management left me highly upset and will never book nor recommend the William Vale.
Certainly not a world class property - terrible service.
the fire alarm went off six times between 10pm and 2am with announcements from the hotel manager each time that it was a false alarm. When we checked out, there was no apology or mention of it by the hotel staff when it seemed like they should have been offering something in return from the lack of sleep.
