My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Chequers. The hotel is clean, well kept and convenient for all local amenities. The staff were very professional and polite and happy to help at every turn. Highlight for me, apart from the location, was the plentiful parking available and the breakfast was delightful and incredibly good value for money. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and highly recommended.

Our room at chequers was really big extra large bed really cosy bathroom had a bath and shower some what hard to get out of the bath as the handrails were in a awkward place on the bath . On first impressions of the hotel was really nice until you look a little closer some of the furniture in the reception area could be updated as the leather on the arms of the chairs were really badly worn and that's the first thing you see when you walk through the hotel reception area . But on the whole a great place to stay good walk up to the town lots of great pubs for meals and drinks . Ample parking for the car

Fair amount ot parking spaces but if you are going to Newmarket Racing then i would get there early, we arrived at around 12pm and managed to grab the last empty parking space thankfully. Staff were lovely, allowed us early check in and were very helpful with Taxis and restaurant recommendations (we ate in Burkha round the corner and the food was beautiful! I had one of the Executive rooms which was nice and spacious. Will definitely stay again next time i go to the races.
