We enjoyed the walks along the Humber with the path starting right behind the cottage. This is perfect for dog owners like us.We took a trip to Withernsea (about 40mins) where there is a vast expanse of beach to explore (also great for dogs). Also went...

"A lovely little cabin by a lake at the back of the owner's house (great distance between. Felt secluded and peaceful. Was great waking up and feeding the chickens, guinea fowl, geese and ducks with a cup of tea looking at the lake. A great spot to unplug and relax. Fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, central heating, cooker, kettle etc. a few more utensils would be handy. Highly recommend a stay here and the owners, Amanda and Barry are friendly, helpful and good folk."

"Comfortable cosy stay in lovely, clean cottage which is dog friendly. Situated minutes from shops meaning you can easily get your essentials or grab a drink in a lovely pub. Nice location and suitable base to drive to other parts of the region. The cottage was clean and presented as described. WiFi was excellent throughout ( I know that’s required for some, but not us) Has a small back garden, which is gated and perfect for dogs to stretch their legs."

Middletons Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The room we had was brilliant, room 8. Very clear and modern, just loved it. The location of the hotel is fantastic, nice and quiet but an easy walk to everything York has to offer. There is a charge for the car park but well worth it has we didn't need to use the car after we arrived."

Stableside at York Racecourse

10/10 Excellent

"What a fantastic find! We travelled with our dog and couldn't have found a more perfect place. The room was spacious, modern and clean and all the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Exeptionally dog friendly and a good relaxing feel about the place and a definite friendly vibe. Breakfast was great, well organised and a good variety to start the day. Hot drinks and soft drinks available all day, and a small selection of alcoholic drinks available for purchase. The accomodation is set back from the main road so no traffic noise. An easy walk or bus journey into York and 2 pub/restaurants within a 5 minute walk which was helpful. You can walk onto the race track on none race days and a great option for walking your dog. We are already looking for an excuse to go back."

Holiday Inn Express Hull City Centre by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"Hotel very close to the Railway station and St Stephens shopping centre. Was busy at check in so allow time and be patient. Breakfast area/ Bar area was busy both mornings, so suggest going early to avoid the rush. Only down side was waiting for lifts . Our room was on 7th floor and with the window open it was quite noisy at night into the early hours."

Holiday Inn York City Centre by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"Location is perfect for parking close to eight qpark or peel street, and close to Barbican centre and the town centre, quick check in and last stayed for 2 nights in October, called reception for more coffee and milk and within 5mins there was a knock at our door with them, very impressed! Quick Check-out also, there is a travelodge opposite but will always pick this hotel fist if possible"
