"The hostel was comfortable overall. The bathrooms were not that clean as the other hostels I’ve been at in Japan but still bearable. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Only issue is the shoes (which you have to remove before getting in the beds section are placed within the dorm itself giving a nauseating smell for who is close to them, maybe place them outside?staff overall friendly and lounge really nice and equipped "

"I would highly recommend this place for anyone. Couples can get accommodations in a private room with a private bath on the 10th floor with a beautiful view. Breakfast is minimal but delicious and the coffee is quite good. This would have to be one of my top stays in Japan And I would give it 10 stars "

"It was hard to get a goodnight sleep, people were very loud which at this point I had stayed in four hotels traveling all around Japan, besides that there were no amenities included which every other hotel offered. I had to pay 200 yen for just a towel. It’s located in a nice area. And I wouldn’t had minded the charge of amenities since I had my own, but the noice, people were not respectful at all and there was noice all night. Overall it’s a good place to stay if you just want a place to leave...

"I stayed in a semi private room, and it was honestly brilliant. More hostels should do that, cause it was so nice to be able to have your own space, but not have to buy a single room. "The place is clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the common rooms are cozy, the showers are high pressure, and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint is that the house dog situation was, for the time that I was there, a little concerning. They were quite vocal and unfriendly for the most part, apparently because they were in heat. I believe the staff when they say it's not always like that. But overall I greatly enjoyed Guest House Matsu so much that I kept wanting to spend time there...
