"This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. We were shocked to be hit with a $100 deposit at check-in that was never clearly disclosed during booking.Things only got worse from there. We paid for a room on a key-card access floor, but the moment the elevator doors opened, we were hit with a horrible musty, damp smell. The hallway was being used to store mattresses, which was completely unacceptable and gave the entire floor a neglected appearance.Our room smelled like a swamp. The walls were peeling, and the room clearly had not been properly maintained. Even worse, we found socks in our bed that did not belong to us and trash under the chairs. This immediately made us question whether the room had been cleaned at all before our arrival.When we tried to contact the front desk, nobody answered. I even attempted to get Expedia involved, but they were unable to get a response from the hotel either. The lack of customer service was incredibly frustrating.To make matters worse, guests and what appeared to be staff members were smoking marijuana right outside the main entrance. Every time we entered or left the hotel, we had to walk through the smell and smoke. The only reason we stayed was because every other hotel in the area was fully booked and we had nowhere else to go. Had another option been available, we would have left immediately."
